These are the ones where I can't decide between an actual favorite, but I think it goes in this order

Depends on what you deem an anime...It's animated, it's from Japan. I mean sure it uses a different style but then again FLCL has a totally different style than Cowboy Bebop for example. Like you say it's all about the degrees you place into the category.

I still have yet to see enough of Full Metal Alchemist...I saw subbed episode once, but i really didn't know any plotlines or such, yet i still enjoyed it. I need to see more, are the DVDs out yet?

full metal alchemist aint out in usa yet... its still easy as hell to find it online however.
and imo athf is so orgasmically good that it transcends the cartoon / anime barrier
