I hope this one hasn't been done before..

There's quite a few system startups.. off the top of my head, I can think of the Sega Saturn, PS, Dreamcast PS2, XBox, Sega CD, Gamecube, DS, PSP probably has one, Gameboy, etc.. What's your favorite?

I liked the PS2's at first.. nice and quiet and pretty colors. XBox's is alright. Gamecube is kinda annoying, and Dreamcast is hella annoying with the VMU's beeping when you turn it on.. i'm going to have to have to have a tie.. for me, it's the secondary XBox startup (if you have an XBox game near you, put it in your DVD player and hit play), and the DS.. but if I have to choose, i'm going to say the DS. I like the sound, it's quick, and it's not overly flashy.

PSX for me, i meant good metal gear times, then next is SEGA with such a variety everytime, you dont see master cheif appearing in the core when i start up halo 2, now do you, but sonic can run past blue bold letters to his hearts delight

sega genesis...because whenever you see the blue SEGA symbol, you just know your brain is singing "Seeeggaaaaa....*jump**bleep**coin*"

heh, even though that depended on having sonic in, etc, it's probably the most memorable.
second best would probably be xbox, since i feel like i'm charging on some sort of green premodial goo with my 31337 plasma power core or something crazy like that =P

Genesis for me too "seeggaaaaaa" aah... memories.

I hate when my xbox boots because the video has a spasm for 5 seconds while the auto video switcher picks it up... it only does it when my xbox boots...

the cubes is good because it doubles as a menu as well, so you dont have to take out the disc, start up, put the disc back in start up again
I really like the GC startup, what with the alternate noises you can get. I also like the DS startup for the same reasons Scorch stated.
I really like the gamecube startup aswell, but what other alternate noises can you get?

...other than children laughing and a duck by holding down "z" on startup. ..

Also, this will only work with a nintendo licensed controller !

All these years of owning a cube and I never knew that. I'm definately going to have to try that.

PS2 definitely with those bars that are affected by how much time you've put into the saves on your memory cards. I was surprised when I learned what determined how tall those bars were. The startup noise is nice and goes right into the browser waves sounds nicely.

Try holding down "Z" on 4 controllers upon startup.

a drum, a woodblock....and....a ninja ?

interesting.

I change mine to the Master System startup... because I don't believe there was one. I might be wrong though, been a few years.

I also really like the DC one.

My problem with the PS2 startup is that it always feels like it takes so long. Seems like forever before I get to the first game screen. Cube boots up way faster.

I think you're right.

Although, with the Master System adapter on a Genesis... there was no startup screen.

Original Gameboy - Good and quick
SNES - I mean if you saw my old avatar, you'd know why
PSX - It's simple and cool. However, do not like that there are two.
