Favorite Up and Coming Band?

I had some on my computer via mp3s or bookmarks which I recently lost thanks to my harddrive crashing. But a few off the top of my head.

Airbourne
Black Tide
White Wizzard
I'm a little confused as to what "up and coming" means. A lot of this stuff has been around for a while.
Agreed. I'm seeing bands that have albums available in stores nationwide... I wouldn't exactly consider that "up and coming" myself.

On a totally different note who hasn't listened to The World Inferno Friendship Society yet. Do so.
I don't actually listen to World Inferno much, but I have seen them with Leftover Crack a couple of times and they are really awesome live - if anyone has a chance, you should see them!

Do you guys actually think those bands are up-and-coming, or is it just like relatively unknown bands you like? Maybe I misinterpreted the question but I thought it's like "what music artists do you like that are quickly gaining popularity?", and to answer that question...

Yeasayer
Recently released their second LP, very different from their first, more accessible yet just as good. They're currently on a tour that was scheduled prior to the release of their new album, and by the number of shows selling out it's pretty clear they're gonna need much bigger venues for their next round. This is their best music vid IMO, but quite NSFW -- http://pitchfork.com/tv/#/musicvideo/3918-yeasayer-amblin-alp-we-are-free-secretly-canadian -- but to really appreciate 'em check out their La Blogotheque take-away show (google it).

Local Natives
Their debut album came out a month or two ago and their popularity is still exploding. These guys are already pretty mainstream yet it seems few people know who their name-- chances are you've heard a song or two by them and just haven't caught their name yet. Airplanes gets stuck in my mind more than any other song of theirs: http://pitchfork.com/tv/#/musicvideo/3994-local-natives-airplanes-frenchkiss

Owen Pallett
Went by "Final Fantasy" until a couple weeks ago. He's been around forever but it seems like he's getting more coverage now that he's got a more profession (and legal) name to go with his music. If you watch only one of these three music artists, make it Owen Pallett, this Tunnelvision is pretty great: http://pitchfork.com/tv/#/episode/2072-final-fantasy/1
