SC is doing all day coverage on Favre's retirement.

Just one more sign that the stars are aligning and Dallas will be getting having a home game at Jerryworld in Feb.

fuck, I picked Minnesota in my PS3 league thinking this gunslinger would lead me to victory. Oh well, I always have the shit scrub Tavares Jackson.
he will unretire by the end of the month
This. Come week one he'll be right back to taking snaps again. Is anyone really biting on this? He does this shit every year.

Well, apparently he is retiring because of an ankle injury. If he really has an ankle injury, I believe he's done because he wants to compete at 100% and if he can't maybe he figures it isn't even worth trying. Vikings have no shot at much of anything without Favre, because every other QB in their squad is incapable of throwing less then 80 interceptions per season.

Hahaha, good luck with that. Tavares Jackson is like a slow, butter fingered running back, but in the QB position.

"After 19 seasons, Brett Favre reportedly will retire for a third time. He's the all-time leader in wins, TDs and passing yards"

...and retiring

Fixed.

He's had (iirc) surgery on that ankle three times including this past offseason.

While I won't believe it until 2011 rolls around (come on, this guy fucked with our minds all of last year), if it is indeed true. This makes me very happy as I don't like the vikings.

Im not buying it.

He probably woke up with an upset stomach and texted someone he was going to retire........just to get attention.

He has untill September 9th to either officially retire or sign up to play next season. thats a month away.

P.S: Im not hating on the guy, he had an AMAZING season last year and a field goal away from going back to the super bowl. If he is healthy, would like to see him come back.

It doesn't matter if he had surgery on the ankle before if his old ankle didn't take well to this latest surgery. Plus, he had that shoulder injury (torn something I think), that may or may not have been fixed with surgery.

If that ankle heals, he's going to play. I'm not going to believe he's retired until he's dead and cremated to prevent Zombie Favre from just having fun out there.

Like I said to Regian earlier on Facebook when the news was first posted, I will believe it when week 1 comes around and he's not in uniform. Until then, I'm doubtful.

At 503 times sacked, he was only 13 sacks away from the record.

To me, this is sad as an NFL fan, but great as a Chicago Bears fan.

Well, it would be if this were final, and we all know it isn't yet.

Bear, bear! Attack!

Anyway, yes, Favre broke a of records. I don't think he is vying for that sack record though.

Is he holding a special press conference on ESPN called "The Retirement" so he call everyone in Wisconsin an idiot and that he's going back to Minnesota?

Oh, I see what you did there.

Brett Favre: Will Play For Vikings If Healthy

"Our Ed Werder spoke with Brett Favre in Hattiesburg, Miss. this morning and Favre said he has NOT made any decision regarding retirement and he will play in 2010 for the Vikings if healthy. Favre denies sending text messages to any Vikings personnel saying he is retiring. Asked if money was a factor, Favre said this is not about money."

You know he'll try anything to get back on the field, but he said himself that the ankle is not where he wanted it to be (he said that some time ago, a bit after the surgery I think). But if it will support him moving, I'm sure he'll play.

that's the chick, nice.

Couldn't blame Favre if it were the case, but I don't believe it. Does Brett really sound like the kind of guy to send nude photos of himself to some hot reporter girl? No. More then likely just trying to get herself into the news because anything with the word Favre in it is guaranteed some attention.

He probably had them on his phone for 8 months, but kept waffling back and forth about whether or not to send them, while wearing Wrangler jeans.
Heard from the local sports radio station that he is not retiring. Either way, hes an attention whore
Yeah its sounding like he won't retire. Certainly indecisive to say the least, but every time he says he will retire people have to listen because it could be the end of a 10203239203920 year career. Little do they know he will just come back...

I don't even believe him anymore when I hear reports. I thought he was and then a friend of mine said that he's just missing training camp. I give up with him. He will have passed away someday and they will still be trying to figure out if he's coming back from death to play another season.

I did laugh, I'll admit I laughed a bit.

Anyway, yeah Favre has pretty much run his course with the whole in or out thing. When it happens, fine, until then I guess I don't really care anymore.

I agree. He's a great player and the game is always better when he's around playing. If he plays, great for the NFL. If not, he's earned the right to retire on his own will. I just want him to do so before he ruins his stats. I guess the way he was playing last season though, even that isn't a huge concern.
