FEAR 2 $25 at Play-Asia.com (360 region free korean version)

Thanks. Even with almost $4 shipping, this seems to be a worthwhile price for this game. Sure, it'll probably be slashed to $19.99 on Amazon tomorrow, or something else that would be just my luck, but why wait to add another few ounces to the backlog pile! I mean, "backlog mountain range."

It looks like it's the Korean version. I know it's not region protected but are the menus, controls, dialogue and all of that in English?

Thanks,

From the product's description on its Play-Asia page:

Language English, French, Spanish, Italian, German

Boy, I certainly hope it's got at least English voicework. I could really care less what language the instruction manual is printed with.

I'll take my chances, but if anyone has any precedent about Korean versions of 360 games, thanks in advance.

I'm going to assume it's probably good but I took a pass. Target had it on clearance for $35. That along with $10 in Target gift cards made it easy for me to pass up PlayAsia and just go with the one I know will work.

Toys R Us has FEAR 2 on sale in store this week for the 360 for $29.99. Target also has it on clearance with many stores at $35 right now. I would recommend waiting for a proper US version as the price savings with shipping on this deal is minimal at best.
How do region-free games work for the 360? Just curious.
Hopefully they work as well as Demon's Souls for the PS3 has worked on my PS3, where there has been no real difference.
Looks like a good deal never tried a Korean version game before though..
If it's anything like the Asian version of Demon's Souls I got, it'll come with an instruction manual written in whatever language is prevalent in the region it came from(mine is in Chinese). But if it's anything like the game I got, then it'll also come with a 'cheat sheet' with the controls and some description of the game in full English.

Is this YMMV or just an unadvertised sale in every Toys r us? I don't see it in this weeks ad.

Ditto that - $29.99 for US version is the way to go. Not sure how long the sale is on for...but it's National.

I'm sure there will be no problem playing the Korean version, it'll be in English etc, but bear in mind you probably won't be able to trade it in anywhere.

Thats what puts me off, $25 isn't cheap enough for a game I won't be able to trade in after I'm done with it.

I think this will be $20 on Amazon at some point.

It's just unadvertised, but the price is national. There should be a little red and white shelf tag advertising the price at your store.

Personally, I'd like to see the reaction of the clerks at Gamestop or whatever if/when you try to trade in an import title. If it had the same UPC somehow though, that would be hilarious for anyone who tries to buy that copy later on, especially when they go to flip through the manual and find it's in a foreign language.

I had that happen with the copy of Silent Hill 4 I had for PS2. It had a wholly seperate French or Spanish manual that was shrink wrapped to the main shrinkwrap.
