Final Fantasy IX PSN Announcement Coming by Friday


Will the final PlayStation Final Fantasy go downloadable?

March 29, 2010 - It's looking likely that Square Enix will be following up on its PSN releases of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII with a Final Fantasy IX release.

Producer Shinji Hashimoto has been keeping fans updated on developments relating to the FFIX download release via the Square Enix Members Twitter.

Last Friday, he said that due to the passion expressed by fans he'd be bringing up a possible release for the game at a coming board meeting. That meeting was held today.

According to Hashimoto, board members, recognizing that this year marks the 10th anniversary for FFIX, were in large part friendly to the idea of a PSN release. We can expect to hear the results of the board's debate on the matter by Friday.



I got so sick of waiting that I finally bought the game off of Amazon for around 10 bucks last week.

Oh, so many random battles. They need to also release Chrono Cross.

I'd be surprised to see Chrono Cross on PSN. Of course if they think they'll get $$ for it, then it'll be there, lol.

FFIX is easily in my top 3 of all the main Final Fantasies.. really looking forward to this.

Don't remember much about the game. But I do remember liking it. It will get my money.
