Anyone know if there is a chance of the FF7 bundle coming to the US? Also does anyone know if there are any sites taking preorders and what the price is going to be. :D

if there is, it may be that little push for me to buy a slim design psp. but since we're not getting them this year, I'll have a little time to save up some money for one.

Not getting what? The PSP Slim comes out in September, and the point of the FF bundle is to comemorate the FF7 anniversary, I believe. It'd have to point if it were released next year.

I don't think this will come to the US, but hey it might which it'd be nice I doubt it though.
The bundle is pretty nice it has the silver color slim psp with the FF7game crises core and the cover of the game is different from the normal games also it comes with a little sword to attach to cellphones etc..

Yesasia had this bundle for pre-order it was listed as $440 or $430 it was around that I guess they're done with pre-orders or maybe they're making sure they have enough bundles for pre-orders because they had pre-orders up for this, but they took the page down or something then a few days later it went back and now it's down again also Toysnjoys had it, but soldout and was $299.

Playasia and some other stores are still hopeful if your going for this I know playasia price is $299 because on the 25th of July they had the page updated to pre-order, but it went back to announced pre-orders comming soon so I have no clue what's up probably doing same as yesasia and making sure they can get enough bundles.

yeah, I think the Star Wars bundle is what we're getting instead...
which amuses the hell out of me that in japan it seems that FF7 > Star Wars...

So late to the game.....

NCSX website still has it AVAILABLE for pre-order for $409 + shipping

No chance it will be available in the US when the US version of Crisis Core comes out next year (spring or early summer). This is a limited edition 10th Anniversary collectible bundle and only 77, 777 units will be produced. Should I jump the gun???

i wouldnt count on it, but given that FF7 is such a big franchise there will always be a chance, maybe 77,777 units for the US as well. the US track record for SEs is pretty paltry, but who knows.

I also discovered that the US will only get the piano black version on release date next month, but Japan will launch with 5 other color variants. So, I assume the only way to get the ice silver psp slim (non-import) is thru the mandatory bundle.

Thanks for the useless tidbit of info. Go along now.

Nintendo is also the only company that makes incredibly disgusting, vomit-inducing 1st gen designs (I mean who seriously who thought the 1st gen DS looked good?), so that you are forced to rebuy hardware. Glad I didn't buy in until the DS lite!

Plus the shitty screen on the first gameboy advance. Seriously, you can't see anything. You were forced to purchase the gba SP if you wanted your portable Nintendo fix. That's just how the big N rolls and forced people to buy their portable hardware TWICE.

Don't forget how much better the current SP is compared to the original one .

Please, all companies are like that. The new slim PSP ring a bell?

I take it you nubz never owned the original Gameboy Advance. The back light or lack of back light plus non-adjustable, low contrast screen made it nearly impossible to play. Of course, you trollz will act like you know it all ;)
Please, all companies are like that. The new slim PSP ring a bell?
At least Sony waited. Nintendo screwed me with too many handhelds which is why I'm usually hesitant to buy them. There's no doubt I had fun with the GBA and like some DS games, but I do feel a little cheated buying the DS Phat.

As for the slim PSP, I've had a PSP for a while, got lots of love out of it, so I don't care. Adding a video output is just too huge for me. The regular PSP screen was perfect right from the beginning IMO.

If you look at the PSP redesign you can tell it was done for a completely different reason than Nintendo with their handhelds (well actually both for money, but that's a given). Sony has always said since the announcement that they didn't want to change the look of it as they believed the design was good already.

The redesigned PSP adds functionality that no one or at least very few complained was lacking on the first iteration. However, Nintendo's revisions always rectified at least one critical deficiency that the masses complained about. Let's not even talk about how a blind person with cerebral palsy could design a better looking 1st gen handheld. I have to give them credit for their recent work though, because I'm 100% convinced that they canned whoever was designing their hardware in the past.

well the slim psp has better load time, no more flying umd, and a better d-pad. I say they fixed some major complains from the original.

No way I'm paying over a $100+ premium for a FF7 CC sticker on the back of the PSP, blade key chain and a SE box. Call me when it's $299.

Quick question, since I really did decide to buy one...it's not really a sticker on the back, right? What I liked about it was that BOTH ends of the backplate have the FF7 engravings plus the limited # count at the bottom edge...making it truly bad@ss. The upcoming Star Wars bundle only has the Darth Vader engraving on the battery cover...which can easily be replaced or modded with any customized battery cover; hence, no collectible appeal at all. (But I guess that's why I'm paying a premium for the import)

all this fancy bundle stuff is just too hairy for me, I'm just going to get the Piano Black and save myself 200 bucks.

Black may be simple but it just goes well with everything.

I doubt it's an engraving. It's just plastic after all. Probably just paint.

yea,the special edition is cool, but all it is is the silver psp with a silk screened image on either end+plus a keychain. not worth 400* to import imo, but if you're a collector of all things FF7 or just a huge fan of the series, why not get it. we all have overpayed for a special edition of something we like, doesnt even have to be video games.

i am very tempted atm, anyone got theirs yet willing to post some pic ?
The lowest price i see right now is from ebay for $350 shipped, how much is the shipping at play-asia.com ?

still considering between this bundle/JP ceramic white / Star wars bundle

I like the color silver, something about glossy black handheld devices I don't like because they easily scratch and get finger prints. I prefer white or silver where you can't see the finger prints.

Anyway, the addition of the video output is what finally pushed me to buying a psp. Its a really cool feature knowing you have a portable that you can hook up to a larger display to watch movies and games. I hope the next generation of portable game systems have this as mandatory like wifi capability in this generation.

didn't they push the release date for cris core back in the US? If so, then maybe there's a chance that it was pushed back so they could create somemore ff7 units for the US.

I ordered the limited edition FFVII Crisis Core PSP from yesasia. I really wish I stayed in Japan for two more weeks...I would have saved myself about $170. Damn yous Square, all my money goes to you! *shakes fist*

Will take pics once it comes!

well, it's this game that's selling me a system, so i really wish they'd release it here. it'll never happen, though. Sony doesn't love us that much.

It'd be stupid not to release this bundle here in the US. In Japan, the FFVII system should not be limited edition, let whomever wants out get one. I would have made a million of them. Its not like Sony makes any money because these limited editions will be worth a couple of dollars in the future. The system, gave the psp a boost of at most 77,777 psp units, however if they would have released 250,000 FFVII bundles, then they would have had a 250k boost. I would have released the bundle first, then the game.

But Sony definitely needs to get this FFVII bundle here to the us, and they need to get it here in large quantites. First day, or two, 250k bundles, let those sale (hopefully sellout) and then release the game.
