FFXII CE $30 at GS
their problem is they cant get rid of the last few copies because they're gutted, and the cases have been tossed around and scratched to hell. What kind of "collector" would want to spend an extra 10 bucks on a beat up copy?

I bought my CE off ebay, along with the LE guide (both new) for about 60 after shipping, i think. not too bad, considering how recently this was (no more deliveries of new CE copies to GS and they were also out of LE books. I'm just upset I got the Vaan cover. Ugh.)
Maybe it's just your area that doesn't have any CEs left. I used their site to search for stores within 10 miles of me that had it and 8 stores came up, each stating that there are 4+ in stock (although it says that they aren't getting anymore in). One of my friends who works in a GS ~50 miles from me said that his store has some left, too. I don't know about the book, though, as I'm not looking for that.
Eh? Eh? GGCs were pulled? Says who?
Says employees at two different stores I've been to. Ask around here and you'll find that no one can find them.

I know it's only $10 difference but: I'm so glad I waited. It's $30 and I was about to bite for $40!

To those of you in this thread who are within their return period: Go get the CE for $29.99 during the Memorial Day sale (going on all week) and return it with your old receipt (if you opened the old one).

Is this just a sale or a pricedrop? If this will be a pricedrop, I may just wait cause there's so many copies of this game and it's not that great of a game.
Hm. So if I buy the CE for $30 do I get 20% off the $20 LE (CE?) guide as well?
The LE guide was $30. And I think it's down to $30 just for this sale, even though I could see it dropping again soon depending on how many copies they still have left.
The battle system is very world of warcraft ish, and you gain talents kinda like you would in world of warcraft. It is almost like a MMO that is singleplayer mixed in with the classic FF style.
Ohh man, why'd you compare one of my favorite games to WoW?

And the reason it plays like an MMO is because the game system is basically a copy of the online Final Fantasy.

No, the LE guide actually dropped to $19.99 quite a while ago (originally $29.99). I was waiting for it to drop to $9.99 or $0.01 but I might get both during this sale if I get the extra 20% off the guide for buying the game and guide at the same time. $29.99 game + $16 guide = FTW.

Yeah, I paid $60 for it as well. Not that I regret it, but considering how I plan on buying the regular case anyway...

Got this yesterday, brand spanking new for 30 bucks. I had a pirated copy that I only got a little ways into because it skipped a lot on the cutscenes and using swap discs is a pain in the ass anyway. I've been meaning to pick this up and actually spend some time with the game, and limited or not, I really like the tin packaging on the CE. Very classy IMO. I'm usually don't care about that sort of thing, but I enjoy what I've seen of the game so far and I'm glad I got a sealed one with no EB stickers in the nice tin case for a good price. Also, this game has got one of the top 5 opening cutscenes ever IMO.

Yeah. I paid $50 for the CE and $24 for the guide. They were largely paid for by the credits from the trade 3 get $10 extra deals. So it wasn't too bad.

They got so many of the CE that it may even see the day of dropping to $20. Who knows?!

Haha, they might drop to $20 if they run out of room for FFXIII CE later =P

I picked up FFXII for $30 and DragonQuest VIII for $15 -both new- at GS yesterday...both are good deals and so far, good games.
FFXII is more like FFXI than FFX, so if you liked XI or havent played it give XII a chance.

I had no plans to get this game... but when I saw it sitting there in the bargin Bin..... oh man... Cloud, the chocobos, the airships... I could hear them calling me... one last ride, one last ride, one last ride, one last ride.. and I was like... but I'm waiting for FFXIII, and FFXII was like... just looking at me.. I can be upscaled!!!!!! Upscale me with your PS3... so I bought it.

I had it sitting on the checkout counter on my first trip to the Game Days sale, but I found the strength to put it back. Then it called out to me for two days... and I finally succumbed yesterday... went back and got it along with the non-CE guide. If it sucks, at least I can use the tin case to store candy or cigars or something.

lol -- yeah, i'm tempted, too. But then I tell myself I'm not a big FF fan so I think I'll wait til this puppy hits $20 and grab it during a 2 for $30 holiday sale.

Just a heads up: You probably wont be getting a Collector's Edition then. BTW, a huge portion of them have been "gutted" for this sale and they will probably go back on the shelf like that.

Oh yeah -- sorry, wasn't clear. I don't care for the CE version; I meant I'd wait til it hit $20 GH and pick it up during one of those 2 for $30 sales that usu. always happen during the holidays.

Not a big FF fan so can't justify $15 for a bonus disc that just has some trailers and a short clip on it (and yeah, shiny case that ain't worth it, IMHO).

Actually the bonus disk contains lots of interviews with the creators as well as art gallerys and my personel favorite thing... the recap of the history of final fantasy...nice.

Damn those cute chocobos, I can't say no to those cute faces >_< My will is not strong enough :oldman:

I bought this with credit and used the 20% off for the LE guide, then returned it for 60 in credit a few days later. I bought the regular one for 50 at Best Buy and got a 15 dollar giftcard (weird CC price match).

I'll grab the LE if it goes down to 19.99.
I already have the regular version as well. The bonus content doesn't seem to good for a $30 purchase
IIRC, the bonus DVD is glitched and won't play well in some players. The metal tin case looks super cool though.

Against the better advice of one of my friends I couldnt help myself and ended up picking it up today. For $30 even if i dont like it i might be able to sell it for $20 or something.

wow... a defective bonus item??...
that's tragic.

I will never fall into this hype again!...what's that you say? FFXIII's going Limited?....No way!

Thus far, when it comes to limited editions in the US, the only one that's truly been limited has been Konami's Subsistence package + DVD.
