asian, when you get the game, we should have some netplay matches.
Word. I'll probably post in here when I get it and we could get some matches going.

I'm not sure when I'll order it only because the next month for me is pretty busy.

I might order it when I'm Michigan next month so I'll have it waiting when I get back. The first step is actually getting my new computer here. It should be here either today or tomorrow (assuming I'm home when FedEx randomly drops by).

Anyone in the FT play Call of Duty 4? When I'm home from break (which will either be the 11th if my Professor will let me take my final early or the 14th if he doesn't) I'm going to be looking to play that pretty much non-stop. I really, really like that game, so much so as a matter of fact that it's my game of the year (just waiting to play SMG before I make it official).

So, anyone play it (on 360)?

no offense, and CoD4 is a fine ass game, but too busy with Mass Effect (and either as good or better than CoD4). It's refreshing to finally play an RPG I can enjoy to the fullest... last time I remember that happening was ... wow, when Vagrant Story released.

anyone know of a decent fighter exclusive to the gamecube? only series I know of is bloody roar.

CoD4 online multiplayer =

Pick it up you damn fool! ;) :)

For Gamecube, Bloody Roar: Primal Fury (99% sure that's what it is called) is surprisingly badass. In terms of an exclusive fighter though, I think you're SOL. All I can think of is Bloody Roar, Soul Cal 2 and then all the Naruto / DBZ / One Piece etc.... fighters.

Oh there is World TV Fighters or whatever, with Optimus Prime, Simon Belmont, Bomberman, Master Higgins and the rest of those guys. That game you would have to import it, but my friend bought it and it was kind of fun. Alot like Smash Bros but not quite as good.

There is also Smash Bros ;) Although something tells me you don't like that game

I had World TV Fighters and it sounds good on paper but the game is just okay. You can tell they tried to make a Smash Bros type of game but it fell a little short. Oh and you forgot Solid Snake & Megatron. But Megatron looks a little funny since it's modeled after the toy, not the cartoon.

I really like the Gamecube Kinnikuman wrestling game. Much better than the PS2 version. Nice, zanny and over the top. I really can't think of anything else. The Gamecube was pretty crappy for fighters in general.

My friend and I played the hell out of Ultimate Muscle : Legends Vs. New Generation. That game needed only one thing; tag matches. Never played the PS2 one, mainly becasue they ditched the cell shading and it received poor reviews.

hat something is me as you have clearly outlined ;)

I respect SSBM, I just can't stand the crowds and mentality most of those crowds have towards the game. I'm just happy to see King Dede in the next one since He was my all time favorite Kirby character. Back when all I owned was a gameboy I was a Kirby whore-child-thing.

Now that you say Belmont... he should've gotten into the new smash... more deserving than Snake IMHO.

also, props to MM for finding this...

also, rumors have it that the new updated KoF 98 will be released in arcades as well opposite of the PS2 version :)

Yeah it's definatly not as good as the GC version. How the game really fails is that it doesn't have any kind of story mode, everything feels like an exhibition match. And the methods to unlock all the secret characters was boring. Something lame like win 15 survival matches in a row.

Ultimate Muscule often gets overlooked and it's a shame cause it's a really great game. Lots of replay value, cool characters and over-the-top kick ass moves. Collecing all the little Muscule Men was fun. Kinda like the trophies in Smash Bros. I'm not into wrestling much but I could recomend this to a non-wrestler fan. Plus how can you not like a guy named Dik Dik Van Dik.

T6 intro was pretty cool.

Rodimus, can Ultimate Muscle be had for cheap and is it anything like WCW Revenge or any of the other AKI N64 wrestlers?

Edit:
Anyone ever see this?

If my real life friend didn't personally screen-cap those, I wouldn't believe it

Jim - You should be able to get a copy for under $20 easy. The game is made by Aki so it does play similar. Hard grabs and puches are done by holding the button and light attacks are done by taping quickly. And when your super bar powers up you can perform your Signature Moves. Plus it's got a Create-a-player, but it's not very deep.

hankmecrankme - It does have tag matches. They have Tag finishers. I remember to tag in & out you move up to your corner and press the c-stick up then they switch out. You just can't be in the the ring at the same time.

That's right. We wanted tornado tag matches. My mistake. It's been years since I've played it.
wasn't it in Blitz where you could platy as Raiden as well... oh the old Midway arcade games, do I Miss those so.
Speaking of older Midway games, anyone ever play "The Grid"?

grid1.jpg

It was actually a pretty good game. You could play as Scorpion and Sub-Zero. According to Wiki, you could also play as Noob Saibot. I only played it when I was younger (like 15), but it was pretty fun at the time. If I remember correctly it used a trackball and a thin, ace-combat style joystick that had triggers on it.

The GameCube Naruto games aren't bad at all, those fit the 'decent' category pretty well I think...

And it's no longer a rumor! KOF98 Ultimate Match IS confirmed for an arcade release in Japan...

The Grid! Fun times playing that game with a bunch of friends...

Nice about KOF Ultimate Match. Though really, I just want that game on a console because I'm not within walking distance of a Japanese arcade.

My local arcade, before they closed, had the grid out and was the most played thing there (Flippers, in case Rodimus knows of the place)... man, it was nice when they had a whole section of fighters set aside... I remember I spent an entire day there playing Tekken Tag when it just came out. Pure beauty.

Yeah, I've heard of Flippers but never been. I've only been living in SoFlo for 6-7 years now. Doesn't Boomers in Dania have the Grid? I think I remember seeing it on my last visit.

I used to play a bunch of Tekken Tag at Boomers back in my collage days. 10 Buck Tuesdays baby. Just $10 and you can play all day, everything. We'd get a group of about half a dozen of us and dominate all the little Middle School kids. That's when my Tekken skills were top notch. Good times :D

I'm guessing that means the console release won't be for a while then.

Maybe I was dumb but judging by all the press that game got at various shows, I thought they were shooting for a console release first/only.

The Fighter Thread is almost on the second page. . . So here's my King of Fighters '98 bump. Playing KOF XI has made me want to play '98, which I've been playing for the last 3 days.

I mentioned in the general gaming topic... But I'll say it here too! Big PS3 fighting game coming out in May(or around then), expect an announcement sometime in the new year...

Oh yea... www.sdtekken.com update!

MM, was that game you posted above actually released or is it just a beta or something? It's so wild (and dumb) looking.

Best part is where dude with red hair flys away and that just appears crash landed into the ground on the other side of the screen.

Edit: Actually my guess is that it was made with Fighter Maker or some similar program. M I RITE?

Is it something that has already been announced?

Soul Calibur 4? Tekken 6? BATTLE FANTASIA?

I can't say :(

But here's more customizations in addition to the one RR saw...

I didn't put em' up on SDT site cuz I'm lazy :)

And it's cold... :(

Ppl in Japan are actually complaining about the customization items. Since Tekken 6 is not yet complete and still in final beta... the customization choices are very slim... so ppl have a bunch of $$$$ but everyone looks the same haha... You can't even customize colors yet.

Markman, where did you find that 2 in 1 DS bundle that had Card Fighter's Clash DS and Tank Beat? I saw your post in the one thing for Christmas thread and I said to myself, I have to buy that bundle.

Got it for $14.99 at Costco...

Linkin Park is my guilty pleasure. There are a few songs I really like but never the mainstream stuff you hear on the radio. They're definatly over-played.

I got to meet Linking Park after their concert at SDSU a few years back... I wanted to get an autograph but I didn't have anything for them to sign other than my daughter's picture... So yea they signed that lolol...

In fighting game news....

Check out the newest T6 update at SDT lol...
Got it for $14.99 at Costco...
I was @ my Costco today and they didn't have any of those 2n1 bundles unfortunately. :(

Those Tekken customization are going to be awesome, especially steve's customs.

Is that MMO fighter/beat em up game going to be PC or Xbox 360? That is a really interesting concept, I'm surprise no one has thought of it before. On second thought, 3-D beat em ups haven't exactly impressed critics/gamers recently. I wish someday that someone will create a 3-D beat em up that will compare to Streets of Rage/Final Fight.
Looks like the Ziff/1up exclusive on SF IV is finally coming out soon...

:)
Internet only? Or will there be some cross info w/EGM?

Anyway, that's hot news.
I wish someday that someone will create a 3-D beat em up that will compare to Streets of Rage/Final Fight.
As long as developers keep their current mindsets as far as these games go, we won't. The problem with newer beat-em-ups is that devs feel pressured to make them these 8 hour beat-em-up epics. So you get a game that should be an hour stretched out to eight, with all the fun taken out of it in the process because it gets so damn repetitive. Not only were the old-school beat em ups short enough to avoid becoming repetitive ('cept for Golden Axe... but that sucked no matter how you look at it), they also consisted entirely of "the good part." They were short enough that they could have non-stop fun and one surprise after another.

So basically, we're fucked :whistle2:?
Looking for a suggestion:

If I was going to buy a PS2 Guilty Gear game, which one should I buy?
Accent Core (the newest one).

Accent core is the newest and best balanced.

But if your not a competetive player, and want to save a few bucks, theres nothing wrong with GG:XX, which you can grab for about $10-15.

The only one you really want to avoid is GG Isuka. That one was a steaming pile.
