Fighting Game Thread 6 is dedicated in memory of Chac*

Officially hate T. Hawk, every time I play against him I get owned. So now Im going to SRK to watch some match-up videos and improve my game (hopefully).

^T.Hawk can be a real pain in the ass. Who are you playing as?

Happy bday Joe, hope you had fun.

Phrosty I missed you by like 30 min tonight, but that's ok I was sucking really bad tonight messing around with Adon. I should be on latter this evening.

Thawk is cake for Chun. Lots of strategies to keep him out, and he's totally vulnerable to her DF LK move.

I've been working with Ibuki still, did some of her trials but Im still working with remembering her moves, the half circle attacks kill me lol. But honestly, I just find her so much fun. I actually experienced my first rage quitter on Super yesterday when I was using her, people are hilarious.
thanks jekki!

ya'll missed out on my bacon and cake birthday party!
omg u guys missed it!!!

basically, Kain man raised an actual pig to harvest its meat.

dood had like this super thick fresh and succulent bacon unlike any other bacon I and anyone who was there have ever eaten in their life!!

it was like omg this is the best bacon ever!!

the piggy had ribs too, which were good,

but the bacon was the star of the show!!!

Was just reading the Ibuki section on SRK, and it seems like grapplers are definitely going to be the biggest challenge.

Btw, is there someplace we can post videos of our matches on CAG? I think it would be fun if we compiled a list of some of our most memorable/funner matches.

I don't expect to win with her at all.

You could probably just post them here.
Don't Jag Tooth? *shrug*
ie. dont do anything since pretty much all of Adon's moves use his body >_<

I fucking hate the range on Hawk's throws... for some reason they seem longer than Zangys

Well if the Hawk player is anything like me, then they love using Condor Dive. You can punish that. If they stay on the ground though, you're kinda f'd in the a.

I haven't played an Ibuki yet so I don't know how the match goes, but I can tell you...

- Like Mr. Beef said, Condor Dive is VERY unsafe on block and easily punishable every time.
- If the Hawk likes to poke a lot (especially st. HP or st.HK, you can focus attack him from outside of sweep range. However, his sweep is really fast and hits twice so it beats focus at close range.
- He has a really hard time dealing with cross-ups. Just be sure you've got your links/cancels down or it's potentially a free 360.

That's all I've got. If it makes you feel better, it seems like Hawk's tough matches are REALLY tough. ;)

What exactly is modified from oiling Haken up? I've only noticed he can slide during certain attacks, slide back & forth during focus charging, and improved dashing. I think I remember his light attacks being quicker making them easier to combo, but I'm not sure which ones. Anything else?

Or if you're playing online, assume you're going to drop the link and they're churning that stick. Vertical jump and land some free damage!

Ugh... what were the changes, umm... his f+rh knocks down, his defense goes up, it's easier to link with him, his grab range is extended, he can dash cancel, uhh... that's all I got right now.

Also, he can do combos after a level 1 focus attack as seen in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3LPDv2sVKc No one else in the game can combo off a level 1 focus attack.

Ughhh, tell me about it. I was playing a friend's Ryu earlier with my Balrog and every time I'd miss a link or there would be a tiny bit of lag I'd eat a DP for my troubles.

Anyone have a definitive list of changes for all the returning characters in SF4 that they can link me to?

Also, good games to Joeeeee and Phrost earlier.
So anyone have links to anti Hawk shit? My adon has a very hard time with him cuz the fucking jaguar tooths are easy fodder fro throws.
Don't use Jaguar Tooth so much. I noticed that a bunch when a couple of us played with you.

The move is ridiculously easy to telegraph.

For example Seth can FP Shoryu xx FADC xx Stomps on reaction and Hakan's U2 punishes Jaguar Tooth.

Recovery isn't great on Jaguar Tooth too, and Hawk can just throw you after block.

Glad to see everyone hates T.Hawk. Thats who I main with on XBox, and came close to taking down some top guys. Playing the turtling game seems to work wonders with him.

Is there any good strats out there for Dudley? I want him to be my secondary but I suck really bad with him.

Man, I've been using my Supers a lot more. Is it just me, or does the Super bar go up faster now?

And this also might just be me, but I can rarely find a time to use Hawk's U1 over U2. His Super just does so much damage, and U2 is great against Juris, Ibukis, Seths, and jump-happy shoto scrubs.

i don't know who that other guy was in the room playing hakan

i was just mad and wanted to taunt him

also i like whiffing shinkuu hadoken point blank

by the way, does anybody know anything about refurbished systems?

do people still get red rings?
how much is a red ring out of warranty?
how long is the warranty anyway?

K. I'll take note. I was just primarily fucking around, but I'm mainly trying to find a good playstyle with Adon. I'm more learning how to be comfy with the range of his attacks. Yeah, I always laugh know when my Jag Tooth hits into a U2 Hakan. One thing tooth does have is that its nice to mix in crouching jabs or throws and and other randoms, but mostly Im fucked.

I wish I was playing Cody honestly since I like his style, but for some fucking reason my mind can't comprehend the friggin zonk knuckle shit. Same reason I can't play Hilde ins SCIV.

So now I think I can only play Adaon and Dan, and kinda Cody if you don't include zonk.

His Jag Tooth is almost always safe when blocked, but the more you telegraph it, the easier it will be to use an AA attack before the block. I would say save it for wake up. If you are in trouble, an EX JT will get you out of dodge. If you knock down the opponent and he cant tech out of it, I'd say that would be a good attack to start with.

But then again, if you haven't learned how to combo out of the JT, its a pretty useless attack

I think it's kind of match-up dependent, but I was playing a set against a friend's Guy yesterday and U2 worked a lot better. The only thing I'm not too keen about with U2 is the hitbox sucks - there were definitely times where I anticipated a jump-in and it completely whiffed and got punished for it. If you can force your opponent to jump back though, that thing is deaaaaadly.

I honestly haven't really used the super but I do find that Hawk ends up with full bar all the time. I do find myself using EX Spire to get in quite a bit though, especially in shoto matches.

Oh and to any Hawk players, cr. HP is a pretty awesome anti-air.

I got a ps3. I want to play in on a cag endless battle night. I'm more of a HD Remix Player, but I'm giving 4 a 2nd chance with this game. PS3: dyn0-myte

I like winning against good T.Hawks and Dhalsims...they really make you earn it.

I think I've played one decent Juri out of 100s of spammers. Her moves leave her pretty wide open and spammers always complete that air kick move on block.

I have yet to see any Juri throw pokes correctly, or even use her projectiles effectively. Most spam air kick and that down to back flippy kick.

I dont like playing Dhalsims with Dudley, but I absolutely crush them with balrog. As long as you are ready for the grab....over and over again, its really not that hard of a match.

GGs to Jim, Joe, Roses, and all.. and Arikado hey don't get mad bro, I only taunt cuz I love ya. :D

Why is Deejay's music stuck in my head?

Makoto's Ultra 1 is almost useless now. In 3s you could combo it into almost anything which was good since it had no range.

Huh?

I think you mean Ultra 2.
And in 3S Ultra 2 was only comboable if they were on your side of the screen.

Ultra 1 connects off of Karakusa. The only thing that's changed is that you can't do it from Hayate without Super.

It's so good against most of the people I see online.

No I meant Ultra 1. In 3s You could link it to not only the Hayate but most all her normal moves. I understand why you can't since the Ultra linking properties are universally nonexistent, but still it's pretty tough to pull off. That's all I'm saying.

Thanks, just started using him yesterday. GGs. It was nice to get a bunch of games in. I ate so many ultra today.

What part of PA are you, btw?

Yea, I ate alot of FAs. Not used to people really using them. Good thing the Hawkman has alot of HP. I'm in Harrisburg. Where you at in Philly? My bro lives in Prospect Park.

Oh okay, I'm in the 'burbs. About 20 minutes outside the city.

I went to college in the heart of Pennsyltucky (Lock Haven Univ.) so I was curious.

Only been to H-Burg a few times.

I looked it up and wow, you're right.

I never knew that about 3S.
Maybe because I always chose SA2 so I can pretend to do that 100% stun combo and never actually do it.

Lock Haven is the definitely the heart of Pennsyltucky. My wife is from Williamsport, fairly close to there.
Where in Harrisburg? I work in Harrisburg and York

Live in Middletown
I actually live in Grantville, and work in HBG. I'm in Middletown quite often as my babysitter lives there.

Oh yeah I spent a lot of time in WilPo. I actually did a small portion of my student teaching there.

Next time either of you PA FGT's are in Philly, shoot me a PM or post up in here and I'll buy you a pint.
