Fighting Game Thread 7 is bringin' da heat in Super Street Fighter 4, watch yourself!
Same with one of my friends. He was the Ken player that got that hype match against Marn in the team tournament =O
Rad! I can't remember the teams. I watched the stream before work yesterday, was the only Ken player the one on "Team Button Mashers"?

I found a picture of Hanke online!!!

I look like I haven't slept in 5 days or something. Party hard like a rock star. :puke: Also it must be an old pic, i had more hair on my face 5 years ago.

I see Chacrana on the left, striking a pose.

Yup. He placed 9th in singles. It's funny watching people play against him and people trying to commentate on what he does because most people don't know the intricate things he's doing. =D

What do you mean? Could you give an example?

I assume you're talking about double tapping
Geegee axc, jump much?
Even with Vanilla behind us, I'm still figuring out that Sim matchup.

Seth can't out zone the King of Zoning, so I try to keep moving so I don't get random Teleport/Cross-Up. Problem is I get hit with random pokes against Sim.

It's a pretty annoying matchup for me. I'd jump a lot less if Super gave Seth a way to get around that WASN'T nerfed.

Teleport forward is now ridiculously unsafe and Dive Kick had 4-5 frames added to Startup. Pretty much Wall Jump is my only option to get around now (minus slowly but surely walking forward)

Glad they nerfed seth so much, he wasn't any fun to fight against. Hate how much they buffed sim, he sucked to fight against as it was, now hes even worse and really a top character.

For Sim matchups, i really try to walk forward after a focus dash from a limb hit. I have to remember to watch the lk slide when i try to jump in for a cross up. he definitely can be pretty annoying at times

Seth is (sort of) a normal character now.

The only reason why I was pissed about the nerfs was that they nerfed pretty much everything. Literally it feels like Capcom gathered a group of people who didn't know the Seth matchup with their characters and asked what they hated. After gathering the questions they went to town on the nerfs, while lots of other characters who didn't need buffs got them.

Example:

-Nerf j.HP to make Seth even more of a Rushdown Character. Strong zoning tool.

But then....

-Nerf Teleport Mixup by adding tons of Recovery so you can't use it as a Mixup/Rushdown tool.

Add in:

-Add 4-5 frames to Dive Kick

-Give him U2, with shitty damage, even if you hit it correctly (different hits in the Cyclone)

-Take away U1 Trap, even though getting hit with the Boom, or pushed into the boom, negates 90% of the damage (inside the Stomach Spin)

-Keeping him at 750hp.

Oh well. He's the character in the game that most represents my style of play, so I'm sticking with him regardless of nerfs. He's still solid and is annoying for anyone that still can't figure out the matchup.

Been playing Cammy the past few nights. She's fun as hell to use, but it's like I'm relearning the game. Losing to flowchart Kens sucks!

Yeah, Sim got buffed, but he's only really a threat if you play stupidly.
I only HEARD about this through friends, but I'm so happy it's forever on YouTube.

Who is this cat? EDIT: Nevermind, it's Warahk
Wooow, that was pretty lame.

I saw that on the stream and was like WTF?! I mean I know Fuerte can be frustrating but damn.

On a side note axc - have you heard the new Integrity album? It's really tight - reminds me a little of Seasons in the Size of Days & Systems Overload.

On another side note my Xbox headset broke inside the adapter that goes into the TE in the middle of playing last night

I have and I like it. Too bad the album was finished YEARS ago and Deathwish just released it a couple weeks ago.

Yeah, I remember they were working on it when I saw them which was years ago and they released some sample tracks on a sampler a long while ago. Do you know why at all? Deathwish is usually on top of that, but I'm willing it has something to do with Dwid being Dwid.

Sim wasn't buffed (except for dive kicks, and they're still not that great). It's just everyone else's damage was nerfed. This was needed because Sim last time had to play excellent zoning. A couple guesses by the opponent, and he was dead. Now he can at least survive a wakeup dp to ultra.

Also, watch out for dhalsim's slide -> super (no damage scaling). Wake up throw or jump will get you killed, plus you have to block the right way.

Dhalsim is definitely cool, but he's not ultimate. There are ways to get in. You can focus absorb through his limbs, but you have to watch out for fireballs and st.lk, b.lk strings.

Had a quick question guys, just got my copy of SSFIV for PS3, but it looks like it was resealed (not the y-fold on top). Did your copies also look resealed (if you can remember)?

A buddy of mine who runs a label out of Cleveland mentioned it to me when I was visiting a couple weeks ago but I forgot the exact reason why. I think it was actually on Deathwish. Most likely because he and I were having a conversation about our friends band who used to be on Deathwish and broke up. Apparently they said they weren't happy with how they were treated on that label and the topic of the "Integrity album that was finished 5 years ago" came up.

I got mine at a Midnight Release and it was not typical wrapping. It was just standard stretch wrap.

This. Mine was shipped from amazon with the stretch wrap as well.

Sim didn't only get buffed with dive kicks/drills (they're not that great? they're actually useful now), he also has slightly higher damage output on a lot of his moves and his EX fireball goes full screen. Against a really good Sim, sometimes it feels impossible to get in and you have to play so unconventional at times. So, Sim got some really good buffs.

Thanks asianxcore and Kissfuldreamer for replying.

I can now play with some of the FGT guys and you all can see how much my rose sucks. :D

I don't know if anyone would know but is there something called a connection glitch in SSFIV? I was playing as Ryu and fighting a Cammy. In the last round he\she threw out an ultra combo and so did I...the Cammy animation went first and mine came out afterward thus winning the match. The person I was fighting messaged me saying you couldn't beat me straight up ur a pu$$y etc. etc. and telling me I did a connection glitch.

I wasn't aware of any glitches so did my attack just take priority and he\she is a sore loser or did I do something wrong? The only thing I could find online was ryu had a glitch where a fireball into an ultra would create an unblockable ultra but I ddin't throw a fireball and that was with his fireball ultra not his dragon punch with what I was using.

I don't like to play cheap and it kind of ticked me off because I asked him\her what the connection glitch was and he\she called me a pu$$y again. I'm kind of chalking it up as an immature person but still...

The idiot was probably talking about a lag switch. What Ultra was the Cammy using and what Ultra were you using?

Just a sore loser. I wouldn't think too much of it. I love hate mail, it makes me laugh. Unfortunately I don't get much of hate mail anymore since I suck.

Got to play some SSFIV again... I'm playing more defensive now on my approach and making sure I Jaguar Tooth alot less and it's helping.

I'm getting there...

any combo videos of adon for beginners? I need to have better setups for Jaguar Knee/Whatever since the damage is nice.

Side Note:

If anyone is in NYC on the 17th or 18th I'll have some artwork up in a small gallery. It's not much but I can't complain for being in a show in NYC. I'll be in berlin wile it's up though so I can't even see it up >_<

In fact I'm making the work right now... never have done stylized cardboard cutouts, but the method I'm doing it in is unusual even for me.

Been playing local games at the Smash tournaments that a friend of mine throws. More and more people in general have been showing up, which is nice since it means I get to practice my Ibuki more. ^-^
