I still can't find a freakin' copy of Capcom Classic Vol 2 for X-Box. I don't think it exists. My local EBs and Gamestops don't even carry the PS2 version. The only place I saw it was at Target.
i got the xbox version from ebgames.com, shipped in one day

or can get it from capcom.com

don't think i seen it in any stores

ooh! the big 21 (the age I'm currently stuck at)! be sure to chug down a ton of a certain beverage...?

I haven't played it, but from what it sounds, the DBZ game seems like the first one in the series to really "feel" natural.
Don't you mimick throwing a Kamehamea with the controller? That sounds cool, but wildly impractical.
furniture should fear this game.

Just got my Capcom Classic Collection Vol. 2. I only played it for a few minutes, but the Quiz is cool and all those beat-em-ups  This is probablly the best Collection ever made.

And while not "fighting" game related I just got my Dungeons & Dragons Collection in the mail. Cost me $35 with shipping, not bad, and it proably one of the best of its kind.

in an odd geeky way (that I'm sure some of you would understand), I miss playing D&D with some of my old pals... at least Golden Axe can help me tide the times.

Wow, that's a great deal!

I could swear I saw it at a game store out in Tokyo for roughly $70 used.

Yeah, but I just tried playing it last night and one of the disks doesn't work. The scratches aren't too bad, I'm pretty sure I can reapair it. And it's the disk for the newer one, Shadow over Mystara, which pisses me off. Too bad the game is only 2-players and not 4-players like the orginal arcade version.

I was also specificly looking for this game in Tokyo going to every used game store I found, and I couldn't find it anywhere. Insanely hard game to find.
A nice strat video by NKI and Dave Sirlin as well.
Whoa, NKI? I think I met that guy at The Break!

So is anyone going to NEC over the weekend? I'll be heading out to Philly tonight. Jim Foley, I believe you said you'd be there... and I believe Rsigley as well?

I'll be representing UMK3 as always... I'm not expecting to get very far in the official tournament against the MK elites, but I'm really just there for the fun of it all. Should be a blast!

that garou vid is NICE.

makes me want to learn how to use rock =P

one time i went to the arcade and they had this hacked mame cabinet that had a bunch of games, so i randomly loaded up garou and started playing. out of the corner of my eye, i see this guy looking at me and kinda laughing, then he tells his friend that he'll beat me and starts to play me. he's decent but really predictable, just kept going for the same combo over and over.

i end up crushing him 4-1 and he goes to his friend and says "man that guy knows how to play!"

i laughed cuz i sucked and it was my first time playing against a real person. heck, for a long time i was accidentally cancelling a lot of moves due to the way negative edge works in the game. hahah =P

fuck yea! 1080P on 360 and PS3 :) !

I got a new TV too! Tested ST and Tekken 5 so far... tested it on PS3 though.. there was mad lag... I'll have to hook up my PS2.
Am I the only one who got in on that $5.49 DOA: Ultimate deal earlier in the week?
Probably. Everyone else bought the game like a year and a half ago. Hell of a deal though.

Plus its not BC with the 360.

Which is stupid, since DoA 3 is.

I should be there right now, but I completely forgot about it until like late last night

hopefully i can make it their tomorrow for MK and some other random games

Probably so people would have to jump on DOA4 for their online DOA fix.

Awesome Garou video Apossum. Thanks.

Is there a version of the game that is the best to get? Wondering if I should track down the Dreamcast version or just import the PS2 one

I was never as good as those guys, but there was a point where I was pretty bad ass with Gato. But I played it on the Dreamcast version, never had a problem and it was great. I'm guessing the only reason you'd want to get the PS2 version is only because you prefer the PS2 controller.
damn it! I missed a Tekken 5 tourney this morning because I had to work >_<

it'll be years till I see another one come around locally :(
There was one around us? Where at?
There was one around us? Where at?
On the FIU campus... and knowing what they play there there was probably a KoFXI tourney along with a NGBC tourney.

PS2 one is arcade perfect, Dreamcast one isn't, IIRC.

If you have the means definitely get the PS2 version. It's nothing major, I think the DC one had minor sound problems or something, but if you have the choice definitely go for the PS2 one, espically since it runs in 480p.

So yea, the PS2 version actually has two changes to it... to me, 480p is well worth getting it on PS2.

Ohhh, a collage tourney. I guess I would've heard about it if I attended FIU. Miami really does suck when it comes to arcades and tourneys.

BTW Rolento where do you work? I didn't know you had a job.

Thanks Roufuss. I can play imports on my PS2, so I'll probably order that version of Garou.

another problem i've noticed in my copy of garou is that I seem to have a very hard time pulling off the fake specials. it doesn't sound like a big gripe, but it is an important element to the game as your skills advance.

The PS2 version also has an arranged soundtrack which I like better than the original soundtrack. It's basically remixed versions of the original songs but the instrumentation is much better. Not sure if the DC version had that, but yeah. The game looks great in 480p.

Me and Rolento are both "certified digital photo specialists" at Walgreens

He lives in FL though, and I live right outside of Philly

The DC version did have an option of Orginal or Arranged music.

Gigan - With the DC triggers it can be a bit difficult to pull off those cancels on the fly.

 I can't stand wearing the damn name tags that say that. Oh well... at least we get paid a bit more than the retail employees :)

On a note about the job: if anyone wants some digital photos printed for free or a small price to cover shipping, I can do it for you easily.

looks like Rolento is in the new Metal Gear Solid Portable OPs

Actually, seeing the results from the tourney at SRK, KOFXI didn't get played due to time constraints. The games with the biggest turnouts were for Smash Bros. Melee and Third Strike, along with CvS2 and MvC2. Winner of the Melee tourney recieved $252.

Wow... geeze. Damn smash brothers!

Makes sense that 3rd Strike got play with MvC2 as well... I still say a non-campus tourney needs to happen and once I get a more flexible school life I hope to get one setup.

Not sure what I can do, but I'd definitely like to help. However I'd hate to have just the FIU crowd show up. No offense.

Good luck with the tournament guys :)

My fighting game friends. I'm excited for this week's games... Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops... Blue Dragon, and Ryu Ga Gotoku 2!

Well... I'm also excited about Castlevania (more than anything really), but I suppose you'd be unaffected by that...

I wish I could be more excited for it. But it's already old to me :( !

I'm still getting it anyways because I love the series.

Got my preorder bonuses the other day for both Konami games. :)

I'm still getting a kick out of CCC2.

By the way. I WISH VF5 came out sooner!

Just got back from NEC yesterday! Man, that was a blast. Between the official tournaments and the casual fighting, a ridiculous amount of games were represented. Super Turbo, 3s, UMK3, MvC2 (which attracted the same wild crowds that is always does at The Break), Melty Blood, Guilty Gear Slash (I think it was Slash, they were playing it on modded PS2's), DOA 4, Tekken 5, Tekken Tag, Soul Calibur 3, SFA 3, Vampire Saviour, Eternal Fighter Zero (really weird 2-d fighter for the PC featuring a bunch of little anime girls), CvS2, King of Fighters (the one with 3-on-3 teams, I forget which one that is)... the only real notable absence from the "usual suspects" would be VF4.

I was especially amused, however, by all the oddball games that showed up. TMNT Tournament Fighters (emulated on PC) ended up drawing a large crowd and went on for a pretty long time! So I got to see some high-level TMNT action. And later on I heard the usual MvC2 crew flipping out, but when I took a look, it turns out they were going nuts for a heated Magical Drop 2 competition. A few minutes later, the same modded XBOX was hosting a feirce Tetris Attack match. OH and speaking of puzzle games, I was introduced to this awesome game on MAME called Taisen... something something (I'll have to look it up). Kind of like this awesome hypbrid of puzzle league and puyo pop, with anime characters doing... very Japanese-ish things in the background. There were also some unexpected games of Tutles In Time and Mario Kart 64!

A personal highlight was definitely that MvC 2 crowd. Extremely VOCAL during every match, cheering their people on, screaming and DANCING after a particularly stylish finish, yelling at the characters onscreen (there was this one guy who REALLY had something against Storm, it was hilarious... "KILL THAT BITCH!!! KILL THAT BITCH!! CUT THAT BITCH'S HEAD OFF!!!"). Oh man, at one point this guy just blew off the upper tier characters, and started DESTROYING people with the team of Anakris, SonSon, and Tronne Bonne. The crowd was eating that up, it was awesome. People flipped out watching SonSon destroy Sentinel, finishing off with the super where she turns the opponent into a watermlelon and eats them. Hahahaha, and then this thugged-out looking guy kept yelling "nigger ate yo FOOD!" Oh man, it was classic.

...and this is why competitive like minded guys can have such a great time. Ah, I miss my crew after reading this.

Sounds like an awesome time BustaUppa. I'm jealous, I would've been in heaven to witness that much fighting game action.

It is also nice to see MVC2 players dominate using characters that aren't part of the "Usual Suspects"

Did Dark Geese ever show up to NEC? I keep reading his thread on shoryuken.com and I was just wondering if you saw any of his money matches. He seems to be really trying to get SNK games more respect but from what I read, NEC was put up or shut up time for him and his "Denton Crew".

Busta Uppa - You down for the inaugural CAG fighter thread UMK3 championship? Me vs. you over XBL with Rolento recording the matches so we can post them up in the thread.
