I am just looking to bulk rename files. Basically I just want to add a z infront of the file names so when they sort they will drop to the bottom of the folder

test 01
test 02
test 03

to become

z test 01
z test 02
z test 03

I know about holding f2 when renaming and that throws extra numbers in and messes a lot of things up. Just looking for a windows short cut a a renaming program that would do some thing like that. Messing with bulk rename utility at the moment trying to figure it our there but if anyone has something quicker, a dif prog or knows how to work that prog to do it please let me know. Thanks.

really? If they are all in the same directory just use "ren test* ztest*" without the quotes.

That will not get you a space in there but it will rename everything that starts with "test"

Do people not know CLI any more?
there must be an easier way to rename all the porn movies i have!
Every time I hear about file renaming... this is always the reason.

There was a program I had on my last computer, but I can't remember the name of the app (bulk file renamer? Maybe?)

Somebody recommended Flex Renamer, but I haven't installed it yet (and it's been like a year? I don't need bulk renaming all that often).
