Final Fantasy 11 Job help please!!!

Hello and Thank You for reading this thread.

My problem is that 3 months ago I quit playing FF11 becasue I wasn't really sure what job to do. Now I am back playoing and I want your honest and non-flamable opinions on what job I should become so please help me out.

I am a Hume:

Theif 30
Ninja 16
Sam 12
Drg 12
Rng 12
Mnk 12
War 7

I want to be something without using warrior period.

I was leaning to THF/NIN or RNG/NIN but alot of people in FF11 like to taklk stuff on other players jobs. I have all of the NIN ninjitsu spells up to level 21 if that matters. I also want a character that will be bad ass and will get party invites so please help a borther out. Thanks to everyone in advance for there feedback. Thanks!!!

Thats the most important thing. Currently I am a :

54 Ranger / 25 Ninja on Titan Server

No matter what job you do people will talk smack about someone else. No avoiding it sometimes.

At this level I like to think I know what I'm doing but I still get the occassional Why wont you pull ?
PULL etc.

Which I answer back I Pull when the mages are good to go.

I love being a warrior, seriously if you try it out past level 7 with the right sub job and the right armor you will like it a lot more. Warriors have the ability to tank and dd and is really fun at higher levels IMO. When i get to dd i have meat mithkabobs + beserk + warcry + aggressor and thats before considering i have 2 Viking Axes that give me acc+20 together. Thats me though you should be what you want but if you ask me at higher levels almost every job is needed as there isnt as big a pool to choose from as there is from level 1-30. Rdm are highly wanted though as they help mages with refresh. Since your already up there with your thief i say go full out thf/nin but level a /rng for at least farming purposes
 
A lot of players aren't real RPG fans, so this game is like any other competition to them... I ignore any "smack talk", because if I ask a simple question like "do you think they'll put Alexander in the next expansion?" they have no idea what I'm talking about.

If you are having fun being a warrior, be one... I started in september as a warrior, and now that I'm level 19, I'm very bored... I'm going to try some other jobs to see if it's the game or that particular job that sucks.
 
Yea i really dont like Warrior too much because I really don't want to be a tank. I would rather contribute in other ways maybe DD or SC master. Thx for everyones help so far. Please keep the replies coming. Thanks!
 
If you are just wanting to be invited to parties a lot, you would have a lot of sucsess with White mage, but even though I like helping people out a lot, it gets boring standing back from the action keeping everyones butt healed. I seem to have the most fun with my ranger and sometimes Samurai. Im building up paladin now just because they seem noble to me. The main point is, just do what you want to have fun! If you are having fun, the main idea behind the game is realized. Good luck, and long live Sandy! ;)

Level 19 is still a very low level no offense. It sure is boring to be any job around that level because your in the dunes and your partying with alot of people who dont know what they are doing(might include yourself) and that can lead to alot of deaths especially if your fighting against pugils. Every job will be tough at one point or another but if you stick with it all jobs are pretty fun in some respect. Whm and Blm will be hard to solo to 10 but easy to get into a party yet, (and this depends on server to server) tanks are much harder to find at higher levels then they are at lower ones since everyone has to level up a war for subbing purposes.

Btw Rdm will get you much more pt invites then white mage later on since they get refresh and convert. Alot of parties have both but it isnt like before 40 where no whm=no party(there are exceptions but not many successful ones)

Yeah, I don't play often, but I've clocked 40 hours into the game at least... I know online RPGs are different, but that's a lot of time to be "a very low level"

As for knowing what I'm doing, I'm as good as I can be controlling one character. If I could usurp all of the members of my party, things would be a lot better.
 
Dont worry the game gets harder but easier, once you have a higher level character you will see how simple it was before and you will also see how much cheaper it cost to go through there with top notch gear and food compared to what its costing you at the higher level. For instance i paid 100k for each of my Viking axes, just on one of those alone i could easily have gotten almost any job from 1-30 with the best gear for my level(not including rare nm drops due to gil sellers). You also have better stats since things like evasion are maxed out from your first character. I leveld from 7-20 with my paladins in less then 3 days and that was with doing things for college and going to the dentist, hanging with my friends and having a part time job. With my warrior it would take the same amount of party time to level up about 2-3 levels
 
Yea it was a pain to level my THF. It was hard to get into parties at times but i usually partied with my friends. Well everyone thx for your help and i might play tonight. Im on the Fenrir server if anyone else is on it drop me a line my name is Cyril.
 
I have hated leveling thf... it has totally been lame. I have leveled multiple jobs...and pre level 15 thf is weak and feels useless... IMO. Sneak attack does help prior to that level thresh hold. I dunno... for me this game is about fun... so what my advice is find a niche that you will enjoy... (pld for me).

EDIT: Man... this comes accross like thf is the worse job... its not! However, I would recommend leveling thf if it is something you desire to do (personally I am only in it for the farming functions). Second, there are some thfs that give the job a bad name; therefore, come to the table with up-to-date gear, ranged weapon, and a good attitude. This way people will recognize your ability and the job will be way more enjoyable. (I think mindset is a big part of leveling a job). Good luck^^
 
Well when it comes to invite you should thing about 60% based on your job and the other 40% or so based on how you have chosen to act along with how well you do your job as while your at a certain level you will probably see almost the same people in one place.

2nd as long as you do well and arent rude to other players then you should be alright with getting parties.

Also never exclude the choice to go BST you are then your own party, leaving you completely self reliant for the most part

soon i will get to level 15thf and be done with it for awhile, oh how it sucks to level thf.

I didn't fully see just how pimp a red mage would be untill my friend leveled it up... wow... its a long road... but when you get up into the 30's and up the game really starts to change... and become more addicting.
 
RNG/NIN is fun, but for the mad damage I use RNG/WAR (RNG27/WAR13, my main is a 33WAR/16MNK)here are times I take hate away from the tanks and that can cause problems at times, but I have never had a party say anything negative about it yet. I also use a MNK(24/WAR12) and have a blast with that too (Boost/counter/voke make it a trip at times) I can DD,Back tank and have no prob going toe to toe (republic knucks are a must, but bast knuckles will work in a pinch). My in game wife is a NIN 24/WAR12 (her main is a 35MNK/17Thf) and she loves the WAR/NIN combo but that leads to the everlasting job of "el-tanko-supremo" and when she finally gets that through her hard head i am sure she will run from it. A shame indeed since we put tons of time into lvling her. Truth be told I LOVE Rng, it is fun. I pull, I DD, my 2 hour rocks but it can be expensive as hell at times. THF is nice later in game as well, SATA is devastating indeed and worth the wait. WAR easily shifts to DD in the mid 30's (Lets the PLDs and NINS tank) sub with MNK and watch Boost/Counter/Dbl Attack/Berserk work thier Magic (till Warcry kicks in) It is fun indeed. Great luck to you in whatever job you do and always have a job you like. Thats the most important part of the game.
 
Gonna have to jump on the Red Mage bandwagon here.

After playing with some high lvl Rdm the ability to Refresh and Convert really impressed me.

IMO thats one of the things that makes this game great in my eyes is because I can stop leveling my 56 Rng at any time for a change of pace.

My Rdm 20 / Whm 10 is having alot of fun right now but i have to hit 58 with my Rng so I can wear my Af body. Oh how I cant wait till my Rdm starts the af hunt. Looking like pimp daddy is going to be cool
