Just got back from my local TRU in Jersey City, NJ, and they had a few copies of Final Fantasy XII in a clearance bin. It had a $10 sticker on it, but it scanned as a promo at $5. It rang up at $10, but the cashier overrode it. It's still $20 in a lot of places, so if you ever wanted to get in on the FF series, have some laughs.
FYI for anyone near Elizabeth, New Jersey. The TRU there (exit 13A) has a ton of these $5 titles. They had many copies of FF12, Snake Eater, Live Arcade Unplugged, etc. I was going to get some, but unfortunately, due to the area the store is in, everything is locked behind class, even clearance stuff. The store was packed, and I didn't feel like waiting forever to get the games. Too bad.
I live in Elizabeth :D I'll have a looksee soon, thanks. :p
None left in Whitehall, PA. Glad I bought 2 when it was at 9.99. I was hoping to get two today and return them with the 9.99 reciept.
no way! another LV CAG!
Mine had them but all sold out :(. Is there anyway that TRU might restock them? My TRU has those damn paper tickets that you pull from a sleeve and take to the front to get the game. The 50% off deal is posted up right beside them so people see it asap :(.
WOW! Where are you located? I'm just curious because I haven't heard of any TRUs still doing the ticket system.
All the toys r us had for the under $10 clearence was monster trucks and poker for the ds. namco and pac-man for the gba. 100% pure crap.
Ditto at the Blaine and Bloomington locations in MN.

Sounds good. I need to get ride of my $25 gift card I got with Mario Galaxy and I guess I'll head there later today and see if I can pick up this and a few other PS2 games I missed.
I'm really surprised nobody has posted this little nugget yet...

Lunar Knights DS - $4.99
I posted it in the TRU clearance thread :D
Well, you can just find your own alien syndrome then :D
Well, to be honest, I was only theorizing it would be $4.99 since I never actually found it. You, good sir, actually proved it
No actually ad runs from 12/26-1/1 so you guys still got some time.
I found this quote a few pages back. Any truth to this date change?

Yes, the TRU ad runs from 12/26 through 1/1.

Went a picked up a copy of FFXII for myself, one for a friend, and then two more for trade on here if anyone is interested. There are at least 2-3 left at my store, so I don't consider that hoarding. I picked one up for wlogan if he's still looking, so about to PM him. Otherwise, anyone else looking for one? I'd sell for cost + shipping + one or two bucks, which should be...what, 9 shipped I guess? 5.40 + ~2 shipping + extra? Yeah.

Didn't know Lunar Knights was on sale, but might go try and get it a little later (since TRU is literally across the street). But if anyone has a copy to trade/sell, I'd appreciate it.

Did pick up a Table Tennis 360. It was still tagged at 19.99, and the scanners at my TRU SUCK, so I asked the clerk to price check it for me. She pointed to the tag and said "it's 19.99." I asked her again (nicely each time). She scanned it and it came up 9.98, which means really 5. Gee, girl. It took you all of 10 seconds to find out the game is 75% cheaper than you told me.

'Ah well. I imagine this part of the year is rough on cashiers. It was when I worked at Target many, many moons ago.
I know this may not belong here, but table tennis is now 9.98 and with the sale it should be 4.98?
read the rest of the thread, but...

protip: yes.

up in NY now for a wedding and theres a TRU right down the street. Managed to get a few copies of FFxii, and a tokobot plus and WTF.

picked up 11 copies of FF 12. they had around 50 on the shelf and figured all the rest of the CAG here locally had all last week and this weekend to buy them if they wanted them.

Might have a few to trade. Most will either go to family. Sell a few on ebay and give the rest away to get more work (cough cough buy 52 weeks of paper get FF12 free) last time i did this with fire pro i got around 20 new people to jump on.

I'm tempted to go back tomorrow buy all 8 copies left at my local TRU. This price is just ridiculous for such a high quality game. TRU is taking a big loss I imagine.

i figured if noone has picked them up by now you might as buy them all. trade them here or other places . YOu wont get much out of them on ebay right now since they are flooded.

i might toss one on goozex and another on switch. and a few other trading places

Ok, the two extra copies I got are gone (though I still need to hear back from one person).

There are still two more.

I imagine they'll be in demand still tomorrow, aye?

im shocked there isnt a demand. i dont know if people dont know the price (still listed on the sticker as 19.99)

i think if people knew these were 5 bucks each the 50 copies would been long gone here

sucks i paid 35 bucks for this last year (never opened to play it yet)

ANYONE ELSE PAY 4.59 for this game.

looking at my receept these rung up 4.59 each

11 copies for 52 with tax

That's precisely it. The TRU I got all 12 copies I've bought (which still probably has 10 left) has a $19.98 price tag on the divider.

And they all rang $4.99 for me...I should go get them price adjusted. Can you scan your receipt?

Just Kidding...Although 12 copies X .40 cents would get me $5 back...okay, I'm not that cheap.

Mine were tagged at 9.98 or whatever, and there's a sign that says "clearance on all $10 or less games 50% off."

Though, there are games that are tagged incorrectly at 19.99 that are really 9.98 - see my story about Table Tennis a page or two ago.

I mean demand in the sense of CAGs 'round here. I picked up two copies, one specifically for another member, and then mentioned it here. I think I'll go grab the other two copies tomorrow and offer 'em up here as well. Seems like a good way to build a little karma for the new year.

The 4.60ish price is due to another deal going on where you get $10 off $100 purchase. Which really turns into a $5 off since its taken off before the 50% off.

Hopefully, I'll gather up enough energy to make the drive across town sometime today. I doubt I'll actually find anything, though.
I think the old wiki lists it as 12 dollars for eb games, wonder if it is still worth 12 at ebgames?
7 dlls trade in

went to another TRU and got some copies for trades/CAGs with no TRUs nearby.
Also picked up extra Tokobot Plus , Lumines Plus, and Xbox Live Arcade.

No Final Fantasies at the one I went to today. I don't really need one since I bought it at Wal-Mart 2 months ago when it went to $20.

I picked up:
Devil May Cry 3 (PS2, GH)
Far Cry: Next Chapter (XB)
Guilty Gear (DS) X3
Lemmings (PSP) X2
Lumines Plus (PS2) X2
Xbox Live Arcade

And I got a Viewtiful Joe action figure for $1.97.

If anyone wants to trade anything, PM me. Everything except Far Cry and the Joe figure will be going back in 30 if I can't unload them...

Funny story, though, when I went up to the front with my swag, the cashier said to me, "Are you one of them?" I said, "Excuse me?" He said, "Are you one of them? You know, CAG?" I said, "Yes, but the first rule of CAG is that you don't talk about CAG."

Then, he told me about some guy who came in and bought 37 copies of Final Fantasy XII. Classic.

I too picked up a couple of extra copies of FF XII for anyone that couldn't find it. If you're interested, I can ship it for $8 or a comparable trade.
Yeah, they are and the sale ends 1/1...
Not according to the email I received this morning from TRU, stores are closed tomorrow.
