Final Fantasy Dissidia 2 Confirmed

Oh wow this is sweet. I passed on the first one because I didn't like the demo all that much, but I was always itching to buy it for some reason -- glad I skipped it though now that there's a hopefully improved one to look forward to.

And Lightning is in it, so I kind of have to buy it :drool:

Also, I'll be importing -- heard the Dissidia VAs were terribad.
 
So, does that mean Kain will be replacing Cecil, or will they both be in? If it's the former, I wonder if they'll replace every character that was in the first one.

Would love to see Ultros as the Chaos rep from FF6....

I'm guessing they'll be side by side... they'll probably increase the roster with more characters per series this time. Don't really care about any FFXIII characters in there (they were all pretty bland). I would love to see Ultros but I'd love to see Shadow even more.
 
I wonder what villain they will use from FFXIII since it wasn't really focused on one.. And I was disappointed seeing they only used Gabranth from XII and not Ashe as well in the original.

Hopefully Lightning isn't the only character they'll use from that installment.

There are only three real options I can think off...(minor spoilers)
Barthandelus, Yaag Rosch, and Cid. Jihl Nabaat was the only other bad guy with a name, but it's not like she did much of anything before she got killed.

Not gonna lie...they could include nothing but FF6 characters and I'd be happy. Especially if they still allow Umaro to be a Berserker. And give Edgar a chainsaw. And have the Phantom Train be a playable character.

would indeed be a good choice for XIII's roster, his boss fight was one of the best in the game IMO. He's got a good set of moves they can work with based solely on that.
 
Well, the gameplay mechanics wasn't all that great, and I wouldn't list Dissida as a must have game for PSP. I do hate the level grinding for every fighter to reach the max level - to have multiple slots for skills.

Will see what does SquareEnix try to improve for D2, otherwise I am thinking that SE did buyout Koei (if you know what I mean...)
 
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict this game will just be Dissidia with 12 additional characters and maybe the ability to import your save from the first. Similar to Super Street Fighter IV. I hope I'm wrong and this is a true sequel.
 
I'm glad I'm wrong about everything, but still why couldn't they just call this game Dissidia 2? Sometimes I really do just want to punch the guys in SE who name their games in the face.

I really liked it when SE renamed It's A Wonderful World The World Ends With You. Of course there were legal reasons for name change. I don't know. I'm just imagining going to Target and asking the guy at the register, "Yo, can I get a copy of Dissidia Duodecim [012]: Final Fantasy for the PSP?"

Because calling it Dissidia 2 would be bland and generic. The official name though is Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, which looks good to me.

Duodecim is just the way to spell out "012".
 
I never got too deep into the first one, but the presence of Lightning makes this an insta-buy. Crossing my fingers for Ashe from XII making an appearance too.
