Really? Why not? Why are these three getting reprints anyway?
Because FFVII and FF Tactics were published by Sony and not Square.

I got lucky I guess... I got FFIX in my Gold Box this morning for $14.24 and ordered it.
Really? Why not? Why are these three getting reprints anyway?
Not just those three-- Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy Origins, and Chrono Cross have also been in print since they came out.
this is no lie, each screen takes a good 4-5 seconds (i counted) to load and this happens every time you go into battle, or go to a new screen or go to the equip/save menu, so unless if you can find something fun to do in those 4 seconds besides for staring at a black screen, i strongly don't recommend getting it.
It still kind of depends on what game it is. Suikoden V had constant loading screens but I didn't care because the game was awesome. Point is if you never played Chrono Trigger and you don't have a SNES or a DS (which describes me), you should still pick up Final Fantasy Chronicles because Chrono Trigger is worth playing even with ridiculous amounts of loading.
VIII is the best Final Fantasy I've played (I've played them all but IX and didn't finish XII). The story is easily the greatest of the series, and I loved the Junctioning system and the GF system. That's all my opinion, of course, and I do realize I'm in the minority. That's why I'm being vocal about it 8-P.
the junctioning system in ff 8 was terrible. i just hated it how the drawing system works. spending something like 2 hours on a stupidly easy boss just to get those ultra rare magic that was found on him annoyed me.

i know i didnt HAVE to do it, but i was a perfectionist back then, but seriously on some bosses i would get 1-3 magic per drawing (or whatever its called) and i had to get 99 of those suckers.... and then sometimes theres more than 1 type of magic to get... :bomb:

That makes a hell of a lot of sense. But what about Xenogears?

Could be because it was published by Square Electronic Arts, but not sure.

Do load times on ps1 games get any better when you play them on ps2 or ps3? Or is the cd stilll going at the same speed?

Square EA published it. Although as soon as Enix entered the picture, Square EA was pretty much done away with.

There's a fast load option when you play them in a PS2. I imagine the same would be true for a PS3.

One of the first things I did when I got a PS2 was put that PS1 version of Chrono Trigger in, and tested it with normal loading, and fast loading. It didn't seem to make a damn bit of difference.

And when I got a PS3, same thing... not a damn bit of difference. So unless theres a firmware upgrade on the PS3, or a new model of the PS2 that changes this... it probably won't help it all in terms of loading.

The load times aren't that bad. Playing Chrono on PS2 helps and makes it much more seamless compared to playing it on PS1. Get the game if you don't have it. These won't last forever.
how are the loads on final fantasy 6
Not terrible, but there is some slowdown in battles. The worst thing about that port is the music and sound not syncing up with the visuals, which pretty much kills the effectiveness of the game's ending.

My copy of Final Fantasy IX arrived yesterday so I popped it in because it's been so long since I'd played it. Wow, I forgot how addicting Tetra Master, the card game, is!!

i dont remmember the load times being that bad for chrono trigger, but then again i havent played it in a while.
I think ill just get it for DS when it comes out and play it on there.
Load times should be a lot better.
