Hrm, doesn't BB give a % off the guide if you buy it with the game if you're an Unlocked member? Is $25 what that comes out to, or is there another BB offer I'm not aware of?
My understanding is you don't have to be a Unlocked member to get a discount (I think it's 10%) if you buy the two together. Though I'm not sure about a guide that is already discounted. Hopefully it stacks. If it does, I may be tempted in getting it too.
Where do you get the Steelcase from? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVObM9Jgsa0
pre-ordering from futureshop if in canada...if in europe, game.co.uk has them and a few other retailers - if you are in the US you cant get the preorder bonus at all, unless you know someone that can order one and ship it to you personally

amazon.de did have steelbooks for sale for about ~27 dollars each after shipping (about 36 dollars if you ordered 2)

http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0065Z0JFU - 360

ive been tracking them on ebay for the last few days and they have been selling in the 50-120 range, so good luck to you if you plan on going that route ;)

I pre ordered mine from amazon.de. I'm pretty sure theirs is standard dvd size, unfortunately. Canada and some parts of europe are getting the bluray size.

anyone able to get the CE guide + normal 360 version of the game with a discount? I can see CE guide + ps3 or normal guide+360. Wondering how/if it's possible, anyone know?

Getting XIII-2 at Best Buy (45 day guarantee in case the price drops at any retailer with premier silver) plus the collector's guide. Typically they'll do some sort of bundle discount for both.

If not, I've got a coupon from being unlocked to get 50% off a guide~
FYI this one will probably be as collectible as the previous one. Used copies of the hardback FF XIII guide go for over $40 on Amazon.
link? I searched but can't find that item even listed on amazon anymore

Got my guide today. Interestingly, it was packaged extremely well. Amazon shrink wrapped the guide to a larger, thick piece of cardboard and packed it in a box. Not sure if this is standard now but I've ordered quite a few guides and books from them before and never received one packaged so well. Hopefully if this isn't the standard already it will be in the future.

anyone know a cheap 5 dollar game or accessory to get with this? I have all systems. I was gonna jump on it but cant get free shipping and cant find something around 5 or 6 bucks to throw in the cart =P

Just grab some food or something. Or a cheap case for your phone or portable system. Or you could use www.filleritem.com.

I received my guide today, as well (along with my CE for PS3), and it was packaged very, very well. This is less of a surprise to me, though, since I've rarely had packaging issues with Amazon.
Well got my collectors guide, only packed in a cardboard sleeve, no padding, so my guide has a crease and dent.....
Sorry to hear that. Mine was packaged the same way and it didn't have anything wrong with it.

I think mine was packed the same, but no problems.

I'm amazed at how much I appreciate the two included bookmarks!

I got mine today with my copy of the game! I'm loving the hardcover edition of the guide! (Though I will probably have to use a paperweight (aka my phone/wallet) to keep it open xD .)

Mine was shipped in a cardboard sleeve with no padding also, but as far as I can tell its in fine shape.

Still having receive my guide even though it was estimated to arrive yesterday. If I don't receive it today, do I get credit from amazon?

I think all they do is refund you the shipping cost. Never heard of anybody getting anything more than that unless something else bad happened besides late shipping.

Placed an order, my FFXIII guide has come in handy, and I will probably play this one more...thanks OP
Only 41 cents, but good to know Amazon has the customer's back.
I'll have to keep an eye on that email for my order.

I know it dropped once yesterday, though didn't see it drop twice.
Anyone get the guide yet? Worth it?
I got one today and while it does look very nice, I don't like how they organized it. For example, the walkthrough portion is just a straight up walkthrough (go here, do this, go there, do that), but if you want additional information regarding hidden chests or the like, you have to go to the "tour guide" section of the guide. Plus there's also a "timeline" section that just seems to give a brief account of the things to do in each chapter that is sandwiched between the walkthrough and the tour guide sections, which means that if you want to find everything you need to do a lot of page flipping.
Granted, the guide does come with two bookmark ribbons sewn into it to help you mark these sections, but a third would have been very helpful.
Getting a Hard, and Soft guide like I did for XIII
Not a bad idea for people that would like to keep their CE guide in pristine condition for resell or collection purposes. My guides tend to end up pretty messed up after too long as the pages will come undone from its adhesive and start slipping out randomly. Happened with my FFXIII CE guide.

Sucks that mine hasn't even shipped yet and other people already have it, and I preordered mine quite some time ago. Guess I can't be too mad since I ended up getting an extra $10 credit out of them while asking a rep if they could combine my separate game+guide orders to get the 5% discount and they couldn't since an item in my first order already shipped. So, still love you Amazon. Forever yours, your slave for life.

Just FYI, the Best Buy 15% off when you buy the game does stack with the sale price - got mine last night for about $21. I know this is probably only useful to others like me who had credit at BB since there are better deals to be found on the game, but maybe this info will help someone. :)

Got my copy a few days ago and a $0.41 refund, thanks Amazon. $20 for the CE day of release seems reasonable to me. I always regretted passing on the FF12 one, and FF13 didn't need one but collection would be nice.

The pages seem like better quality than my Skyrim CE guide which I love. I was extra careful just because it felt like it would rip so easy. Haven't much gone through the FF13-2 guide's content and layout yet, as I'm not far in the game yet.
