Finding good prices on speakers

I know from working at Best Buy that nearly the majority of the price of speakers (any brand from KLH to Klipsch) is margin (profit) and not the actual cost of the speaker. Is there a website like monoprice where you can get good speakers super cheap?

Eh, maybe pricegrabber.com? There's not a monoprice style place to get speakers... that'd be too easy. In fact, there's really no way around spending money on speakers if you want something good... you get what you pay for, so you really can't skimp. Either way, your best bet is to find speakers from a good company that are in your price range and that are well suited to whatever it is you're going to be using your setup for.... but you can't expect to get something nice like Vienna Acoustics speakers for $10 each or something insane like that.

Speakers are kinda hard to find deals on and when you do, the shipping usually kills it.

If you need some small speakers for a home theater set up, Circuit City has these this week on sale for $20 a pair. They're fairly good speakers from what I can gather.

Also, FRY's puts some Polk speakers on sale occasionally. These are on sale now (sold individually!).

Or this pair of bookshelf speakers.

Don't be fooled by the prices, I have a few friends that have built $100 towers out of those Parts Express parts, and they hang VERY nicely with my $1k Boston Accoustic VR-60s.... it's actually kinda sad :(

But I got a Tumult (15 sub) and blew em out of the water bass wise :) :) :)

I don't bother keeping up with the DIY crowd, but from what I hear there are tons of sites that tell you exactly what to get/do... good stuff, that PE site.
