Where the hell can I find the DS?
I'm not buying from Ebay.

I looked around the stores this weekend and they are sold out, no idea when shipment is coming in.

You and me both, man. We'll have to wait it out until whenever it is that the next batch do come in.
 
Why did Nintendo pick up that stupid tactic of making that little shortage >.<
They should just mass produce it and bombard the stores with so much that the aisles would be flowing with them.

I think its cause there was a shortage in the screens, or at least there was. Also it was released in Japan I believe, so they have to have enough for there too
 
Have you tried going to all major retailers? Last time I was in a Target (midday Black Friday), they had at least 15 of the guys sitting around. I would suggest looking at Walmarts, Targets, Kmarts, and any other discount retailer.

My local TRU has dozens of units in stock. I'll ship it to you via Priority Mail for cost. With local sales tax (8.25%) it should come in at no more than $175, probably lower.

I hate seeing people paying a premium on eBay when other places have plenty to go around.
 
I checked my local TRU today and they were sold out of both the DS and the slim PS2.

Ninty has a history of doing this, though. Anybody remember the big Zelda2 "shortage" back in the NES days?

i called wal-mart they have them... with tax they are 157.50 and i can ship via media mail.... if anyone wants to work something out i can get it cost plus shipping i reckon! lol
 
Check places that aren't usually known for selling videogames like Sears. I've heard from a couple of CAGs that some Sears have them available.

how do you get away with shipping them media mail??? my post office wont let me
 
Costco had the mario ds bundle for 175 they actually had a stack of em, about 5 foot high. it was the costco in Niles, IL if anyone is interested. had to pick one up.

Every store 25 miles near me is sold out of DSes. Damn! :censored:
This thing is hard to find...
Guess I'll have to wait til next week...I hope the next shipment comes soon =/

Well, I tried. Sorry guys, I can't help you. BTW, the "Grr" and the "HAH" were just jokes, he isn't really pissed, that's just his screwed up sense of humor ;)
 
If you guys want them, better get on out here to Illinois! Yeesh, the stores are flodded with these things. I don't think any store around here doesn't have them! EB had 15 as of yesterday, as well as Target, Wal-Mart, and BB.
 
The stores around me were out (BB, Walmart, TRU, EB, and Target. I noticed some at a blockbuster video though. So if you really want them try a odd store like this.
 
what you can do is this: go to a games store like eb or gamestop and if they are not in stock, ask if you can preorder and pay in full. they get them in daily or every other day, and if you have paid in full they will of course hold the system for you and call you when it shows up.
 
For some reason ebay prices seem to be on the high end again. Over the weekend when I checked, most auctions for DS's were around 130-150, and there were a few for 170-ish with Mario 64 included.
 
The reason for the shortages of DS has to do with the LCD screens...major shortages on them, as they are used on everything, cell phones, pda, mp3 players, TV's, computer monitors, car speedometers etc...they couldn't keep up before, and now they have 2 new handhelds that are expected to be popular (ds, psp)

I've wasted my whole weekend tracking this thing down, calling all stores in miami that possibly would have them, and loosing a total of 18 auctions just because I don't want to pay those rediculus Ebay prices... :cry: :cry:

And as for buying all of them at one time just to sell them all on Ebay for a $2,500 profit is insane.
And, don't complain about troubles buying them, a lot of people (like me) are still looking for the DS at MSRP, $150.

Jeez...well, there's nothing wrong with your ad for selling, but I for one, am not buying a DS on Ebay. I just can't see people profitting over somebody else's product.
 
It's good that you didn't buy all 30 of them at one time for retail.
Why do people buy more than 2 DSes anyway?
The people who do buy in bulk really shaft the people, like me, who are still looking for the DS.
 
$50 markup still has to go to cover costs. Luckily, I can buy tax-exempt, so that saves me ~$16 that I would have to make up. Paypal takes $7 or so, and Ebay takes at least $7, depending on how I list them. I also included free 2-3 day insured shipping, so that's another $7. That leaves me with less than $30 per item profit, to make up my time and effort. You do not have to shop around to get one of these, you can sit at your house, pay $50 extra (actually only $34 extra as I charge no tax to out of state) and it will arrive at your door, no effort on your part. Consider it a service fee.

I can sell you one with mario 64 included for $225 shipped. It would cost you $192.50 at 7% tax rate, and again, you sit back and wait for it to come to you.
 
Hey, no problem, like I said, I'm only offering it. Besides, I haven't been able to get any in the last week anyway. If I was wanting one for christmas, I would have no problem paying $200 for a sure thing instead of crossing my fingers and waiting for the local stores to get some in, but that's just me. To each his own.

Found a gamerush store with lots of slim pstwos, but no DS. Was going to buy up PStwos to tie up my credit, until they get DS in stock, then after xmas try to exchange my pstwo for a ds. If you wanna know which store has pstwos, its the westchester, ca one. Happy hunting.

Nintendo just shipped out even more units to the stores, try looking in the less crowded stores a.k.a not EBgames.

Surprisingly, when going to CC, I saw a few parents and children walking out with DSes. And I thought that place was quiet o_O
 
I went into my gamestop yesterday to reserve a DS from their next shipment. I went up and asked if I could reserve one, and the guy just hands me a DS. So yay, I finially got one!

I hope you are right, but oddly enough now I cant go out and buy one at the moment! lol If someone outbids me on an auction (currently at $130) then I'll go out and buy myself a system, but if not I have to sit and wait in turmoil waiting to see if I win the damn DS :cry:
