Fire Emblem Sacred Stones in Japanese?!

So I just picked this up for $9 at Gamestop. I get it home put it in and the entire game, load menus etc. is in Japanese. Is there a way to change it back or does it mean someone turned in the foreign version of the game?(i.e. I have to return it)

It's certainly not usual for a game to allow you to switch between English and Japanese. I would be willing to bet you have a Japanese version of the game. I'm assuming it was cartridge-only.

Is the label in English or Japanese? I don't remember this game having a language-change option.

Yeah it was cart only.

The cover art on the cart was in English text. Wasn't until I booted it up I got the Japanese. I took it back and saw the difference.

The one I had, had the main characters on it and the title. The pure English version just has the title and the outline of a dragon.

Not really related but I still hope they bring over the second FE for the DS.

I think someone bought a bootleg game and found out it was a bootleg version of the japanese game, and traded it to gamestop.
