My Firefox browser no longer lists Ebay as a search engine on the drop-down list.

What gives? It's not on their add-on site and "restore default" doesn't restore it.

I think if you visit eBay and click on the search box drop down, there will be an option to auto-add eBay search. This works for many popular websites, including Youtube.

If you goto ebay.com then click on the drop down where it used to be isn't there an option to add it?

ummm... just go to the mycroft project and re-add it... here is a direct link:

the eBay US (Worldwide) search is the one that you probably want... btw, if you didnt know, the mycroft project is the place to go to find firefox search bar addons, if there is a website in existence that has a search feature, it is probably available as a firefox search from mycroft.

Yeah OP, mine stopped working about the same time yours did. The search was still in my drop-down menu on the search engine bar, but it didn't work -- all it did was direct me to the ebay home page without doing any searches.

I removed the search engine from firefox, and added the one from the mycroft link in this thread. Works fine now, thanks for the link.

I think it was just one of the firefox updates that made that old one incompatible.

I figured out the problem, Spybot S&D was conflicting with Firefox and its updates. I removed Spybot, reinstalled Firefox and everything is back to normal.
