Firing Squad's "Xbox 360: Back to the Drawing Board" - 11 Design Mistakes
I don't know, but I'm hardly a videophile and I have it on my TV, so it can't be THAT rare.
My LCD TV supports it, but I think its the future (Not having to have 5 cords for video and audio!

Having one cord for all of that makes it simpler, and people love simple!) It gives an awesome picture! A bit better than component. Only negative is that the future might bring copy protection problems.

Less cables = Less Clutter = More Space :)
I laughed my ass off at the "20gb too small", these people have no idea what they're talking about, and the're writing proffesionaly. 20gb is not too small, if I ever use up that 20gb I will give you a blowjob..
I'll pass on the blowjobm but I should point out that Final Fantasy XI uses 15 GB of Hard Drive Space on the PS2. This is bigger than the entire 20GB hard drive (which is really a 19 GB hard drive with 11 GB of free space). Final Fantasy XI developers have stated that the 360 version will only use 7GB of space. Add some music or try to emulate some of the existing games like Splinter Cell and that 11GB (20GB) disappears quickly. And, god forbid that you play two Hard Drive intensive game at the same time (the Marvel comics MMORPG, which could be a system seller if done right, would be another resource hog)... Who knows what the resource requirements of games will be in 4 years. The system can barely handle the demands of a MMORPG game or a a couple of games like CIV4 now.
1. Mine has yet to overheat, so I don't care.

2. How exactly is that a design mistake? Why waste time putting in something like MSN Music support, when most of the people who will be using the 360's music capabilities either burn the songs to the HDD, stream them off their computer, or use hook an MP3 player to their 360.

3. Don't have an HDTV, don't give a crap. I guess "regular HDTV" isn't enough, they need HDMI? Gimme a break.

4. Like someone else has already said, I will never use up my HDD, unless I was dumb enough to keep demos on the thing forever. Yep, in 2007, I'll still be playing that 2 year old NBA Live demo. Come on.

5. This guy is too lazy to put in a password everytime he signs on, so instead, he bitches about the security. And as far as I know it, Xbox Live accounts that are on the HDD won't work on other Xbox 360 consoles, so forget about the notion of someone getting your used HDD and racking up charges. Plus, it is YOUR fault if you're dumb enough to leave that stuff on the HDD, not Microsoft's.

6. No web browser? You gotta be kidding me. I use a computer to go online, I use a video game console to play video games. Anyone remember how much of a bitch it was to use the Dreamcast browser? When most people are playing games, they are doing it while sitting on a couch or laying in bed, like me. I don't really want to have to also have a bulky keyboard with me, in conjunction with my controller.

7. I have no clue what's he talking about there. Far too many acronyms. Don't care about HDTV either.

8. See #7

9. See #7 again. No problems for me so far.

10. The one DVD I watched looked fine. And if this is a problem, I've got 4 other DVD players in my house anyways. I bought the 360 for gaming, not for watching DVD's.

11. I haven't noticed this as a problem, and I've played a ton of COD2, Amped 3, Condemned, and a couple other games.

Anyone notice that almost everything 360 related posted by CheapyD is negative?

Yeah, I noticed. I think he's just trying to stir the pot and leave room for proper rebuttal by us.

I don't have an Xbox 360 yet, but even I realize that the majority of those things on the list are a reach. Does anyone really care about half of those things? Sure, they'd be nice to have, but would anyone really use half of those features? I know I wouldn't. Video game consoles are made to play video games, Xbox 360 has that feature last time I checked.

I never thought about pressure sensitive buttons. Hell PS3 hardly uses them, I think IMO they only game that used them to their full advantage was MGS:3 snake eater.
damn people are never satisfied. its really a shame, always bitching and complaining.
Welcome to America. Actually welcome to the world.

Wow..MS fanboys have officially passed Nintendo fanboys in their defensiveness.

I agree that some of the points are reaching and half the items should've been save for a "Xbox 360..wouldn't it be cool if" article.

FYI- PA in the winter is not "temperate"
Wow. If that shit is all they can come up with, Xbox 360 is the best console ever.

......

But like I said earlier, if that's one of their complaints, damn, either they suck at coming up with stuff or this is the best system of all time.
yeah, they agree.

In a way, it is because Microsoft did so well everything else such as Gamer Cards, voice chat, and downloading demos from the Xbox Live Marketplace that these mistakes seem so much more glaring

The Xbox360 and Xbox Live are still superb products and technologies. They're better than anything that has ever been offered to consumers before
