Firmware question

I'm considering getting a 60gig PS3...but have one concern..

based on my understanding, the previous firmware update supports upscaling of PS2 games...now that the 40gb is coming out with no backwards compatibility, does that mean they might get rid of this upscaling feature on future firmware updates? If so, then is it still worth getting a 60gb version?

The 80GB PS3 still supports it. Their firmware team said they can still improve the upscaling, so there could be future updates improving it (firmware upgrades also upgrade the BC on the 80GB).

40GB is just there for those who want a cheap PS3 now.

Get a 60. It'll be worth more down the road. It's already worth more simply because the graphics core and Emotion Engine have been discontinued.
