Good games notorious pip. I was unprepared for a good Dhalsim player. We will have to play some more some time.
 
Dhalsim is still a beast despit being a bit weakened. Blanka has been really buffed too. I always freak out playing a good blanka player.. he's so fast!

Yeah, GGs. Don't feel too bad, though. Dhalsim's a bad match up for Sagat. Even in ST with O.Sagat's quicker recovering Tiger Shots, Sim could drill his hands for the low ones and limb underneath the high ones. Sagat in Remixed recovers a couple frames longer from Tiger Shots than O.Sagat in ST, but still faster than N.Sagat.

I was also surprised at how much better Blanka is in this version.

I was expecting more of a challenge! I keed, I keed. That was awesome. We definitely need to run ongoing tourneys. This weekend would be cool if people just want to get into a quick tournament mode too.
 
ninjaspeedrazor beat me 2 matches to 1 in a battle of Ryus. It was close pretty much the whole way, with each of us winning rounds by the skin of our teeth a couple times. One move could've turned thetide of the battle, but he outplayed me and I failed to get it done. Good games.

Yes, Matt Young and I both played it pretty close to the chest, each win was with about a sliver of health left. Very good matches though, definitely a lot of fun!

Simple brackets, didn't want to spend a lot of time on them. People need to get their games in. Lots of blank spaces.
 
Prolly people to sub in if we want. Honestly, with the amount of people we had, we could prolly put up like .50 or a buck each and have a real prize.
 
I put up a copy of KOF 02/03 (Xbox) for the 3rd Strike Tourney last year and someone put up a $10 coupon for Play-Asia. I used the coupon and put a crispy ten dollar bill in the game for the winner. Even then, there were a couple of forfeits.

I believe jer7583 will step in for someone, should we have any forfeiters. If we have more than one no show, I'd gladly step back in for a shot at the title, as I'm sure others on this thread would as well.
 
Maybe this weekend I can make something a little more interesting looking. My photoshop colors are messed up tho. When I reinstalled last my whites come out tan colored so its hard for me to tell whats what.

not 100% but I think the match breakdown was

2-0 him
2-1 me
2-0 me

He's the better fighter but I won my match so......eh

I too will gladly step in for any forfeits/no-shows as I should have warmed up more before playing my matches :D
 
If its all the same, its not really fair to have someone that's already participated in the tournament fill in for someone else. Otherwise there's no reason to knock losers out thus making it a non tournament. :)

I understand your point and agree. Jer can fill in if we have a no show on someone, but the losers will sit out for the rest of the tourney.

If one of your opponents isn't responsive, please try contacting Jer7583 as I believe he might be able to sub for a no show for one match. If you are one of the CAG's in these matches and can't get a hold of your partner to schedule a match, please let me know. If you've put forth an effort and there's been no response, you'll get the win for the next round.

If I don't hear from either player in the match, then the match is completely forfeited and those waiting to play the winner of the match that did not occur will just move on to the regoinal championship.

Thanks again for all the players who have scheduled/played their matches.

I've update the OP with the match ups for the next round. Since there are a lot less contestants this round, hopefully all matches can occur by the end of Wednesday, Dec. 17. After all matches have been completed this round, the regional finals will be next.

Please note that the following matches were forfeited due to neither contestant contacting me about their matches:

eliter1 v BustaUppa

If you were supposed to face the winner of either of these matches, you will have a bye next week.

Lets try for tomorrow. I'm not sure how long it'll take me to get home because we had some snow, which is no big deal, but ice will hurt my already 40 min commute.
