Y is pretty good but anyone jumping in should be warned that there's 3 (or maybe more) graphic novels that compile the series up to now. Go to your local B&N and check it out.

Yeah, issue #34 is out today actually, I'm getting it later on. If you are interested, check out the books at Barnes & Noble. It's also the book in my sig.

The writer, Brian K. Vaughan is really cool guy, he has his own message boards, hilarious guy.
