Hey everyone, ive been in an insane craving mood for a good FPS. My friends and i have played Red Faction 2 and Killzone for months, and we're looking for sumthing new and most of all, FUN.

If anyone can suggest any FPS's similar to these (preferrably like Red Faction 2) with some FUN multiplayer?

Thanks for any help. :D

Pariah has some nice destructible environments.. not like Red Faction 2, mind you, but fun nevertheless.. Freedom Fighters is a bit boring after a while but still a great game.. then there's the obvious ones, Half-Life 2, Far Cry, UT2K4, Unreal Championship 2..

I don't recall Freedom Fighters being a FPS.

I totally agree with Timesplitters: Future Perfect. Very fun!

Are there any particular systems that we should try to stick to?

Edit: I saw that this was in the PS2 forums, but I just want to be sure that we can't say older systems, etc.

hm, thanks for the feedback! Yes, we are sticking to both the First-Person Shooter cat. (fatmanforlife99) and to the PS2 for systems.

Sumone i kno has TimeSplitters, i may try it out sumtime. Thanks.

I recently obtained Area 51, not a bad FPS but the multi kinda BITES. unless of course ur going online with it, in which case, it seems to rock (havent tested, only read about). There's only 2-player vs. and NO BOTS, how lame?? And the stages are kinda small. I like teh vastness of sum of Killzone and Red Faction 2's levels.

Keep the suggestions coming.
Timesplitters of course (I have played Timesplitters 2 the most)
I fully second this notion for TS2. GREAT multiplayer. SO GOOD. Be sure to unlock the modes, maps and characters to get the full effect of "fun"

Not to mention Timesplitters 2 can be found for cheap, so you have no reason not to get it. Multiplayer is awesome, from story co-op to all the different multiplayer modes (flame tag, virus, and many many many more).

awesome, looks like ill be looking into TS2. Thanks guys, anything else?

ALSO, if anyone knows how to hook up 2 ps2/TVs to play a FPS in a single room PLEASE let me know! Kinda like a mini LAN party i guess, we hate the lack of screen u get with split-screen.

EDIT: u said Red FRACTION, lol. Anyways, as for that, can anyone vouch for its multiplayer?

I believe with TS2 you can use LAN with I.Link (only the older ps2's have it), and if you somehow do have 2 ps2's that have the I.Link spots then that should work.

And I dont remember if Red Faction has co-op, but its other multiplayer is pretty basic (deathmatch and stuff like that)

I loved Red Faction's Geo-Mod. Me and my friend would just dig a tunnel using rocket launchers as deep was we could. It would literally take 2-3 min to get to the bottom of the hole.

Try project snowblind, but if your really love first person shooters you should seriously consider getting an xbox and opening up your choices to include halo 1 and 2 and the multitude of other fps's available on the system. Also, the new medal of honor is fun. And in ragards to the posting of freedom fighters, while it is third person, it plays like a first person game and is thoroughly awesome.

Track down Quake 3 Arena or Unreal Tournament - Both are fantastic mutliplayer games (At least on PC and Dreamcast, I've never played either on PS2)

If you want a fantastic single player only FPS get No One Lives Forever. It's like the Austin Powers movies if they were actually funny...

hmm. well i have a v7 ps2, and i dont know if that means i have this i.link thing. and yes, geo-mod is awesome. so illl be looking into project:snowblind soon. and yes, i would LOVE to me able to play the halo games, but im a poor guy. :(

If you have it, its a small port next to the usb ports in the front, but I dont think v7 ps2's have it.

well i have 2 USB ports and what looks like a firewire port thats labeled "S400"...?

It's not the greatest game in the world, but my friends and I used to play 007: Agent Under Fire for hours on end. I suppose anything can be fun with a case of cheap beer, but it may be worth looking into.
