First Tetris DS videos.

Has classic gameplay, new touch gameplay that seems pretty complicated, and head-to-head against the computer. Sounds like a winner to me.

That "push" mode looks wild. Perhaps someone acctually added some innovation to the original Tetris forumla that'll be worth playing? Maybe not, but I'm getting this at launch, no doubt. It'll play better in my new DS Lite, right? ;)

Push mode looks fun for multiplayer. I still prefer the classic Tetris style over any of this new crap.

Damn add another game to the list that I want this and next month. This one's a definite buy looks like something else is gonna get bumped, probably Princess Peach or RE DS....

Theres something unsettling about selling a Tetris game for $34.99 in this day and age. I particularly disapprove of games who's main selling point appears to be that you can play it online.

Wow, definately interested in this game now after those videos. Awesome. Now if only you could beat Tetris by playing SMB...

I know what you mean...but I think I'll be getting it regardless.

argh i have too many tetris games..for the dream cast... for the Cube.... now for the DS when it comes.. i like the original tetris...plain and simple. not these weird versions :|

The only Tetris game I still play is the one made by Nintendo, so I'm looking forward to an updated version of that.

I know a lot of people get excited over Tetris, but I don't. But after seeing the last two videos, I have to say that looks REALLY cool.

Yup the Nintendo Cart version of Tetris and then Tetris DX on GBA. :D

wheres the cheapest pre-order? this is one game i'm hella looking forward to, its gonna kill meteos and lumines, and make DS a must own in every home, as long as there is no cheating then tetris online is gonna be great, but someone always finds a way to cheat...

I'm not sure where the cheapeast pre-order is, but IGN said Tetris DS will be budget-priced (rightly so) in Japan. So it's safe to say it will be cheaper here. Probably $20-$25

Assuming the current $35 price tag for New Mario is correct, we'll be looking at no less than $25, probably $30*. I guess that's what they consider budget for the DS.

* Math for above: Mario price in Japan = 4800 yen, price for Tetris 3800 yen; Tetris = .8 * Mario -> $35 * .8 = $28

Is there any word on whether or not there will be any benefit to having multiple copies of the game for playing local multiplayer? My fiancee really digs Tetris and I just gave her my DS (Lite is on preorder! :) ). She'll be in school across the country for another few weeks after Tetris DS comes out... thinking we might get 2 copies to play WiFi against each other till the wedding. After June though, it might become reduntant to have both copies unless there would be some benefit.
