First Transformer picture from the upcoming movie

I was called NOT a fan once by one of college classmates years ago because I never watched the Japanese Headmasters version....well no shit, it never played here in the US, only over seas, latin countries and the caribeian and so on. Of course that fucken idiot argued with me to provide him proof that there was a VEICHEAL VOLTRON and not just a Lion only voltron. To this date people still don't know about the other voltron (and yes both met in the series finale) Then again that idiot is still living in Miami with no real job and living off his parents who live in Trinidad.
 
I read an interview about the TF movie a while back now - probably around a year ago - and in it they specifically said that none of the Transformers would change mass. So no Megatron -> gun, no Soundwave -> tapedeck, etc. Their reasoning was that it would look silly in a live-action movie, and I agree 100%. I grew up with the old cartoons, I loved the old cartoons - but what works in a cartoon does not necessarily work in a live-action movie.

Anyway, this is probably my most anticipated movie right now. And what's w/ the Michael Bay hate? Am I the only one that absolutely loved The Island?
 
The Island? The entire set up of the film was great. The very idea was fantastic and very dark. Then Michael Bay's action movie directing skills kicked in. I think he's a very competent director, more-so than say Brett Ratner, but for some reason he just wants to blow everything up.

In an action movie, I LIKE it when things blow up. That chase scene in The Island was freakin' incredible. :drool:

Plus, Speilberg is backing Transformers - I think it's about as close to a sure thing as a non-sequel can be.

While that is true, that doesn't mean action movies have to be mind numbing and allow the viewer to turn their minds off as they're watching. There are alot of great action movies that have maintain a plot throughout the movie. For example, the Bourne movies.

What do you mean by non-sequel? You know Spielberg has produced every Jurassic Park, incuding the upcoming 4th one?

I mean, Transformers isn't a movie sequel. We all know what to expect from, say, Spiderman 3 - it's pretty much a given that it will kick ass. So I'm saying imo, the Transformers movie is about as sure a thing as you can get without it being a sequel.

the island was written by Kazuhiro Ishiguro - the guy that wrote "Remains of the Day" which is an incredible and fucking depressing book.
