fix for scratched blue ray?

I got about 1/3 through MGS4 and now it is crashing. I bought the game used awhile back but it is long past time that I could return it. The blue ray looks pretty scratched - mostly many small fine scratched.

Is there any way to fix the scratches or am I out of luck and need to buy a new copy?

Go to gamestop get a used copy, do a switch and return it. Just kidding. try googling your problem.

I've never had a PS3 hiccup over fine scratches. Then again, I don't think I've ever had a bluray scratched. Perhaps taking it to Gamestop and getting it resurfaced?

Wildcpac, I thought about doing that, but they didn't have a copy at Gamestop .

Can you install games on ps3 like on xbox? Just do that (with someone else's disc)

Resurfacing a blu ray disc would destroy it due to the multiple layers each disc has

You can't do full game installs with the PS3.

Odd...Bluray is NOT supposed to scratch. I saw someone take a brillo pad to one and it still played.

As doubledown said, Bluray is NOT supposed to scratch. Blu-Ray has a special hard coat on them because a single scratch could destroy them, Originally Blu-ray was suppose to be in cartridge like PSP games, but they went with the special hard coat instead. I know when I worked at GameStop we were not allowed to take in scratched PS3 games at all since we were told that once they were scratched they were nothing more then coasters cause they could not be repaired.
