::flame suit on:: Anyone NOT impressed with Halo 2?
Same ol' same ol'. If it had been too different you little girls would be complaining that it was so much different than the original. The first title is still on the best seller list from the launch.

I suppose you could call me a 'hater' and yet, my friends come over at least three times a week, and we play Halo/Halo 2. I know what Halo 2 is about, and it was all about the benjamins for Bungie.
Get it straight. Halo 2 Rocks!!!!
You Halo fanboys don't realize that everyone has their OPINIONS. The haters can continue to hate, whether you like it or not.

Yeah, I Halo 2 seems to be way too similar to the first Halo. The graphics basically are the same and you fight the same enemies. The dual-wielding concept wasn't too bad, but not enough to keep me interested. I am not saying that Halo 2 is bad game, but I think it could/should have been better

So if Halo 2 isn't that great of a game, I would love to hear you guys opinions on GTA:SA and MP2:E. I going to take a wild guess that they will be rated higher in you eyes. Oh, but when I defend Halo 2 I'm a fanboy, whatever. Halo 2 is a great game, and I don't see a game coming out to the consolse this year toping it, sorry (wait, I forgot about Call of Duty and Ghost Recon 2, ooh and the new Splinter Cell, man i'm going to be broke as hell). I'm not an Xbo fanboy cause, well I own every system except the Gamecube. I got GTA:SA and its a racist, boring game (I am black so for me, its racist plain and simple). I played the demo si MP2 and its the same crap from the first one, yet everyone will say its better, lol. i'm not saying Halo 2 deserves a 10 since there are some graphical issues (especailly in the cut-scenes, Bungie what the hell were yall doing?). Also, I've been told that the single player is rahter short and for some reason, there are no bots. But the Multiplayer is unparalleled and the single player is great from what I've played so far (the first 4-5 stages). I'd give it a 9.6. Now, go ahead and call me a fanboy, you know you going to.

Yep, six lonely ass people.

Or, could it be that they DON'T know where the good games are at? Besides MP2 and Mario tennis (which I'm actually looking forward to unlike that over treasured Metriod), what games does GameCube have for the holiday season?

Ok, buddy. No need to start some sort of war, which you are obviously itching to do.
All I said, MP2 has a refreshing lack of hype. Sure it means it won't sell as well, but it also means that there won't be millions of disappointed dorks online talking about how Bungie should have spent an extra 2 minutes working on the game and made it shit candy. Do you people know what goes into making games? I'm sure most of you don't. 99% of you would start crying if you had the workload that the people at Bungie had.

Anyway, Halo 2 was overhyped and has faults, but it is still a great game. The people that are bitching that it is more of the same, would have been bitching if it were too different. People will bitch about anything. If I wanted something drastically different from Halo, I wouldn't have bought Halo 2. I would have gone and played Katamari Damacy (which is superb by the way).

I do find it interesting that GTA:SA has far more bugs and glitches (I own both and have put about 12 hours int GTA and 6 into Halo 2), and very few people are as angry about it as they are with Halo 2. The only problems I've seen in Halo 2 are the now ubiquitous cutscene issues, which I could not care less about. Whereas in GTA:SA, there is a ton of slowdown, invisible walls that draw in about 5 seconds too late, lots of other buildings and people magically popping into place. I have also had gangwars in which a second wave failed to spawn in and I had to wander the empty streets for 5 minutes.

Some things that caught my attention:

1) Single player is intriguing, but half the time I was wondering - What am I doing here, what the hell is going on?

2) The multiplayer maps aren't as good as H1. I know they're meant for XBL play, but my buddies and me just want to do 4 player splitscreen. That being said, the new Blood Gulch, I mean Coagulation is pretty sweet. Nothing matches 4-player rockets on Wizard though (try it you'll like it).

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase. Actually the first time I threw my friend out of a ghost I was satisfied. :)

I'm pissed off, I wanted a revamped Sidewinder. That level was our favorite for CTF. However, the new Blood Gulch is quite awesome. That being said, I think the new levels are in general much better than the Halo 1 maps.

i played the beta of Halo 2 a few months b4 release. I wasnt impressed. There are 2 kinds of FPS (or games for that matter) Realistic (CS is the closest i can thing of at the moment) and (Unreal)istic (UT or UC) but PLEASE dont make a game in the middle. halo 2 is a middle game. the original was an unrealistic, fun, annihliation party game. But not halo 2. If your going to try to make a realistic game, by taking out how good the pistol is, then take the ridiculous rocket Launcher. We all have to give recognition to the Bungie/Microsoft Advertising Department as well as Xbox mag, EGM and other magazines for hyping this to oblivion.

I totally agree! Killzone sucks! Compared to Halo2 you would think that Sony would just withdraw from the console race in shame!

Yep, they do. It's been rare to go through a month this year without the game companies releasing a really good, exclusive Xbox game.

But hey! Cheer up man, at least you guys got Resident Evil 4 all to yourselves. Oh.....wait.

I can count the number of Xbox games that I care greatly about on both of my hands! My Gamecube has wayyyy better games than the Xbox. Here's the games on Xbox that I can't get on GC that I want or already have:

Ninja Gaiden
Crimson Skies
Fable
DOA 3 (Not really...all DOA's are basically the same)
Halo (ugh.)
Halo 2
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (Xbox version is best)
Riddick

Well....I guess that is all for the Xbox. Now to the GC:

Animal Crossing
Beach Spikers
Eternal Darkness
F-Zero GX
Ikaruga
Mario Party 4
Mario Party 5
Mario Kart DD
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2 (so close!)
Super Mario Sunshine
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Zelda: Wind Waker
Viewtiful Joe
Luigi's Mansion
Resident Evil
Resident Evil 0
Wario World
Wario Ware MM

And there are more I could add to that list....yeah, you Xbox fanboys have fun with your exclusives.

Best... game... EVAR!!

okay perhaps not, but besides GTA:SA, this is one of the rare games to deliver on its hype, unlike some other (KILLZONE) games.

Unlike GTA:SA, I just can't seem myself NOT playing this game.

BTW Fatesealer, you beat GTA:SA's story, done 65% of the game and act like its nothing? Trust me, you like GTA:SA more than you think.

EDIT: Just got done reading the last few pages and I must say you fanboys sure are a retarded lot. Face it, every system sucks in its own way.

PS2: shitty graphics, horrible online and it'll breakdown on you at least once a year, forcing you to buy a new one.

XB: Horrible controller, lack of software variity and M$ is EVIL!!!!

NGC: Horrible controller, lack of software varity and no (basically) online play.

I'll say this.

Halo is the ONLY game that could have a suck-ass single player, awesome multiplayer, and completely get away with it. If any.. ANY other game was like that, it would get a 7 at the MOST. Halo 2 suffers from graphical issues, a bad co-op mode, a confusing storyline, and just general WTF-ness, but the multiplayer rocks hard. If Gamespot pointed this out and gave it a 6 or a 7, they would be crucified and no one would ever trust them again. Halo's extremely overhyped. It's fun, but it's not the endall beall jesus of video games that everyone says it is.
Whats up with the Co-Op mode? I haven't tried it yet. It sucks now or what?
Supposedly if one person dies, both players start at the checkpoint instead of respawning. I haven't tried it either and won't until Sunday.

If you like first person shooters...buy Halo 2
If you like RPG's ...buy Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
If you like thugs...buy Grand Theft Auto: SA
If you like great games....buy all those
If you like to whine like a little bitch...buy a gun and put yourself out of your misery.......the end
Whats up with the Co-Op mode? I haven't tried it yet. It sucks now or what?
I was rather disappointed that it doesn't support system link co-op (just split screen). The split screen is still decent though, IMO. I think most people are upset because they wanted to be able to play co-op online and as far as I know, it does not support this option.
i dunno I have not touched the story mode yet so I can't comment there.
But multiplayer is great and you can tell a lot of thought was put into it. This is the most fun I have had with a FPS since Goldeneye. Every other FPS I have played since 1996 seemed to be lacking in comparison to Golden eye but this one seems to be worthy.
Yeah Goldeneye rocked back in the olden days, then Halo owned, and now Halo 2. 4 of my friends and I were playing on Xbox Live yesterday and it's awesome. I didn't even become a hardcore Halo fan until 6 months ago, even though I had the game since launch. After we setup our first 8-player LAN with friends I never looked at Halo the same again.

Bottom line: If you don't have friends that enjoy FPS and like to LAN then you're probably not gonna get much out of Halo 2.

No.... It works just like Halo 1, and I just beat Halo 2 in co-op.
Check the facts before posting, guys.

Uhhh, no. Plays just like Halo. You will respawn if your partner kills everyone or leaves where all the fighting is going on.

I love these rumors people spread just so they can hate on Halo 2.
Same ol' same ol'. If it had been too different you little girls would be complaining that it was so much different than the original. The first title is still on the best seller list from the launch.

If you 'haters' actually had friends that came over and played multi-player than you would know what Halo was all about.

If it just went online with the original game it would be worth the $50 bucks. New levels, new weapons, new controls, and expanded team play.

Get it straight. Halo 2 Rocks!!!!
just b/c people don't like halo 2 doesn't mean they're "haters." it's just not their type of game.

EDIT: nm, Rig already replied to all you fanboys with what i was gonna say. everybody is entitled to their own opinion. just b/c they don't like halo2 doesn't mean they're fuckERS, STUPID, ETC. that's just lame you would even say something like that b/c it shows how much of an extreme fanboy you are.
So if Halo 2 isn't that great of a game, I would love to hear you guys opinions on GTA:SA and MP2:E..
GTA: SA - Great story, with a few very implausible moments. Once that part of the game is over, I have ZERO desire to get all the girlfriends, do the side missions or otherwise... most likely, it's trade bait for a DS.

No opinions on MP2 yet as I don't have it nor will buy it at release... I wasn't too keen on the first one so I will wait for the price drop...
Unlike GTA:SA, I just can't seem myself NOT playing this game.

...like it so much that I haven't played it in nearly 2 weeks... I didn't 100% the other GTA's and this won't be any different...

Took things to personal man. All I meant was people moan on these boards about a game that rocks. There is absolutely no other FPS out there that has that kind of energy. Halo 2 doesn't have to have perfect everything. Its aobut the gameplay man. People complain because they hate everything. No game is good enough. As far as Hype...its becasue people loved the game. Was anyone waiting at 12:00am to buy another game recently. If so, it wasn't nearly as many as Halo 2. It because shooting your friends is fun. (not in a crazy way obviously).

As far as being a Fanboy. My friends and I have a regular ritual every evening. Friends come over from all over Brooklyn. Its hard core. We play teams and link up with mulit-XBoxes to accomidate all the people who want to play. We've had our own online little thing going on. That's what Halo is to me...competition. Its also about personal preference.I don't generally like games that my little sister or niece would play. Most of those are:

Animal Crossing
Beach Spikers
Mario Party 4
Mario Party 5
Mario Kart DD
Super Mario Sunshine

Come on dawg. Extreme fanboy, not likely. Just like whats I like.

Only on Legendary. Really, it makes sense. Legendary on the first was too easy, because you could always have one person play it safe. Now you both have to work together.

All I know is, Metroid Prime 2 with its complete lack of hype is going to be a wonderful surprise.
Come on. Why does everyone bitch about Double Dash? That game was freaking awesome. The two player mechanics were great. I have never played a game in which the lack of cooperation could screw you over so much (save for maybe FPS's with friendly fire on). That game caused more profanity and thrown controllers than any game before or after it.

I have a gamecube and 138 gamecube games (thank you CAG), but Halo and Halo 2 are still 2 of my all time favorite games. To me, the gamecube is like a little toy with some cool games and is certainly a great system, but XBOX is like a combination game computer PC and arcade machine all in one. I enjoyed Metroid, but nowhere near as much as I enjoyed Halo. I will buy Metroid Prime 2 and I am sure it will be good, but right now I am REALLY enjoying this Halo 2 game...I consider it a complete blast to play and it makes me feel like I got my full money's worth out of a game (which doesn't happen that much when paying $50-60 for a video game when it first comes out). The only other game in this genre that made me feel close to this way was Riddick. Another great game. I am also looking forward to Half Life 2 and Doom 3 for the XBOX...Great times these are...

I loveed GTA:VC, but I stopped after the story finished. That means nothing.

What he meant was anyone who dislikes a game would not take the time to beat it, which in the case of the GTA games is probably at least 15+ hrs. That's alot of time to spend on a game you don't enjoy.

People crack me up. The lists of great GC games? They're all listing like 4 games and their sequels.... Anyway, I'm first to admit that Xbox has been short on software. The good thing is that the good games are so good, and LIVE is so good, that you don't really need much. My list for Xbox newbies, or people wanting great games....

Halo 2
Halo
Ninja Gaiden
Fable
Star Wars: KOTOR
Crimson Skies
Rainbow Six 3
Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Chronicles of Riddick
Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System
Mechassault
Prince of Persia

What's even better is looking forward to the next year or so...

Prince of Persia 2
Ghost Recon 2
Mechassault 2
Brothers in Arms
Jade Empire
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
KOTOR II
Unreal Championship 2
Pariah
Doom 3 (with online co-op)
Conker: Live and Reloaded
Star Wars: Republic Commando

I know a lot are multi-platform, but if you're buying those type of games, they're almost always best on Xbox. And LIVE makes some of the good games into great games. I guess it's easy to be narrow sighted if you focus on one system. I'm not getting into a system fanboy war, but I think it's a little naive to say that Halo is the only thing on Xbox.

OK. Look at your list for a minute......done? Now you are saying the games I put were "just sequals?" What the fuck did you just post?! I love every system I own, and I will never be a one system buying person, but I love my Gamecube more than my Xbox. And Gamecube's "four games and their sequals" are way better than half the stuff on the Xbox list. Of course this is all IMO, which everyone should put in all of these posts...because this is one big system war. :D

Trust me, very few people ever %100 a GTA, Completing the main part means you droped at least 40 hrs if you were as disenchanted as you lead on. I absolutely love GTA, GOTY contender IMO, and I'm just over 12 hrs into it, and I've had it since the day it came out.

on another note, WTF is up with hating on complex stories? People often complain about games have weak, even non-existent stories, yet bitch at MGS2 and Halo 2 for having "confusing" stories. Heres a hint: use some fucking comprehension.

I sick and tired of all these fucking retards hating on a particular game, over exposing minor flaws and even creating some, just because the game apeals to the mainstream. Yes Katamari Damacy (and games like it) are really good and overlooked, but bitching about Halo 2 because it's only second best looking gmae ever and the framerate skips ever so slightly during 32 man vechile war fair over a bad Live conection.
