::flame suit on:: Anyone NOT impressed with Halo 2?
I'll say this.

Halo is the ONLY game that could have a suck-ass single player, awesome multiplayer, and completely get away with it. If any.. ANY other game was like that, it would get a 7 at the MOST. Halo 2 suffers from graphical issues, a bad co-op mode, a confusing storyline, and just general WTF-ness, but the multiplayer rocks hard. If Gamespot pointed this out and gave it a 6 or a 7, they would be crucified and no one would ever trust them again. Halo's extremely overhyped. It's fun, but it's not the endall beall jesus of video games that everyone says it is.
I would agree with that except GTA:SA, which I love, has shitty graphics, glitchy gameplay, an epileptic framerate and still scores a 9.6 on Gamespot. Gamespot did point this out, but as with Halo2 (online), the game is FUN to play.

As far as the other sequels go, I'm going to get MP2 and MGS3 and if they are just rehashes of the previous games with some more features, I'll be happy b/c to me, those games are fun.

You're saying San Andreas isn't fun to play? San Andreas is a blast. The graphics are forgiveable. I'd rather have a game with shitty graphics and a HUGE storymode than a game with a short story but the best looking graphics ever (I'm not talking about GTA:SA here, it doesn't have a huge storymode).. I'd prefer a game with 2D sprites and 500 hours of gameplay over something like FFX-2. The framerate is annoying, but the game deserves a 9.6, there's no doubt about it - you can tell how much hard work has gone into it. Halo is very, VERY linear, and it seems like they could finish voice work, scripting, and level design within six months, and that's what it feels like. It feels like six months was gone into the game, and the next 18 months were gone into graphics.

Halo 2 is alot of fun on multiplayer, but I have a feeling in about a month or so I'm going to be sick of it. Single player is boring to me, and only games with a solid singleplayer keeps me interested. The exact same thing happened to me with Counterstrike and Return to Castle Wolfenstein (I barely touched RTCW on single player). The only FPS that kept my interest forever was Goldeneye on the N64. Single player on that game was amazing.

The problem with alot of games now that offer single and multiplayer is that they tip too far in the balance of either ALL single player or ALL multiplayer. The only games I played on the XBOX that seemed to have mastered it was Fight Night and Madden.

You must not have played Crimson Skies, Project Gotham Racing 2, Rallisport Challenge 2, Burnout 3, Full Spectrum Warrior, Links 2004, Tiger Woods 2005, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six 3, Splinter Cell : Pandora Tomorrow, or Top Spin.

Game rocks. Just got it with the Holiday Bundle pack. I finally broke down and bought and XBOX. I was a loyal PS2 owner refusing to give in. But I had to have Halo 2. Oddly enough, my roommates and eye have been addicted to Top Spin. The controls are amazing. Who knew tennis could be so much fun.
