Flip Successes and Flip Flops

yeah i think they didnt make that much from tetris ds to keep the license. its a shame since that game is a really good version. but who knows.. nintendo might surprise people by offer their out of print titles on their little marketplace for the DSi.
They don't have the license for it anymore. So it's oop for good.
Holy crap - after seeing this it reminded me Tetris DS is a rare one so I checked sales prices on eBay. It is utterly hosed up there due to an overwhelming amount of bootlegs being sold from Hong Kong. I mean, c',mon, they just need to stop people from selling DS and GBA carts from Hong Kong - is there any possibility ANY of them are legit?

Auctions are ending at $18.99 with no bids so at least it seems people know about it. But probably that kills the market for any real copy you might find. I see one at a GS I might check out - will have to check it out carefully to make sure it isn't a bootleg (plus they sell it for $35 used so that kind of sucks).

Best flip was one I didn't expect. I bought a gyromite in the box (big box) which is apparently really rare. Bought for $3, sold for $470
By gutted do you mean disc-only? I found 2 disc-only ones and sold them for $75 or so on eBay (before fees obviously). I just went with BIN auctions and it was a bit hard to price them because there really wasn't much history for them (this was in Dec). Did you sell yours on eBay or Amazon? Anyway, yeah, I agree that was probably my best percentage by far, regardless - especially considering I was able to use Gamecrazy credit to buy them (and most of that came from getting GC to price match Blockbuster trade-in prices on games I bought from Gamestop with credit ;)).
By gutted, I mean everything was removed... which is essentially the same thing as "disc only." I always have, and always will, refer to rental copies where the original package, manual and artwork have been removed and thrown away as gutted (because everything on the inside has been removed) and sandpapered (because rental copies nearly always look like somebody used them for street shuffleboard before refinishing) copies.

I believe I held onto mine until right before or right after Christmas since that is when prices seem to go up the most (either because of people trying to buy gifts, or trying to blow holiday gift money) then tossed it on ebay. There had been a few sales listed at the time. Really, it was free if you count the GS -> GC (GoW1) -> GS -> GC (Gow1) -> Purchase keeper games ... since my BBV/GS credit had paid for itself 6.4x over. Gotta love the long time flipping BBV enabled. RIP :(

Yeah, the thing I'm most disappointed about with the demise of BBV trade-in prices is that I can't maintain my HWV/GC credit now. I used to keep up constant but low-level price matching of BBV trade-in prices at my closest Gamecrazy. The big HWV sale depleted much of that and now I'm down to about $100 there. I like to have it because they sometimes have great sales, plus they price match sales ads, so I can get new releases a bit cheaper than at GS usually. But I won't be buying any new releases there unless I can build it back up again. I guess I could make break-even trades from GS to GC using BBV quotes (since they are still OK, just not great any more). But that is almost more trouble than it is worth. I wish GC would bring back some sort of trade-in deal again - it has been a long while since they had anything good.
I'm giving away my secret but I have made a few thousand on the 75% off GB/GBC sale currently going on at GS.
GameStop don't ban you from their store if you sell them the same games (or does that happen only to former employees)?

Not to the Chinese. ;) There's about 700 "new" copies on eBay and people are so stupid that they actually buy them without asking any questions.

:) just picked up 3 complete wii sports and a wario ware wii :) (wario for me). I'm going on a road trip this weekend and making stops at gamestops along the way (for the usuals). Roughly estimating the trip will be paying for itself :)

I posted this in the Blockbuster thread a while ago but its still valid.

If anyone is in the need for a PS2, go pick up this (preferably with store credit) http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=27912 the ps2 combo pack for 59.99 (system and network adapter). Ditch the adapter on ebay for 45-50 depending on the day, and you can get a ps2 for around 10 bucks.

I've done it twice, once for a friend that needed a dvd player, and the other for a broke ass gamer.

Well, at least you're not bitter.
RE:UC Shot Blaster
I didn't even know this thing existed. Not that it matters though, I wouldn't even pay retail for it.

Sealed Zack and Wikis are going for above retail now. It's only a matter of time before they shoot up in value.

Managed to get a RE Blaster, thanks for the person that posted that it existed :) Now I can play UC in style.

On topic, in class today looking through ebay seller lists, found a pretty decent flip but I'm going to hold onto it for now since I know there is a lurker in my area. If there is a hidden thread ill post it there but until then I'll wait till I grab them all up in my area (see you in hell lurker).

I thought I'd find something to flip at CC since they have their games at 50% off, but I found nothing really worth it. They had a bunch of copies of Resistance 2, RSV2, Far Cry 2, DQIV, but after checking ebay, doesn't seem like they'd be worth anything.

I have a couple more that aren't posted in here, that I'll post later in the day on Friday (after I have time to grab up all of them in my area) :)

Target

 • Nascar 09(360) - $9.98
 • Tiger Woods Pga Tour 09 (PS3) - $14.98
So far thats all ive seen at Target, i live in Mich. Traverse City area

flips this week:

gripshift - umd only - paid ~$5 for it after some credit at gamecrazy, sold for $20 on amazon
ps2 network adapter - $15 at gamestop (didn't have disc, sorta beat up) - sold for $45 on amazon
re: blaster - $20 new at gamestop - haven't sold it yet.

gonna try to find a couple more ps2 adapters. need to pay off some parking tickets >_>

My target has

9 Tiger Woods 09 - $15
3 Rock Revolution - $10
9 End War DS - can't remember
4 Viva Pinata DS - ~$13
1 Final Fantasy IV DS- ~$30
5 Guitar Hero: Aerosmith 360 - ~$20
4 God of War 2 GH - $20
some more Platinum/Greatest Hits

and Viva Pinata Trouble IN Paradise 360- ~$15

Should I buy any of them to flip to ebay. I just check Tiger Woods 09 and some sell for $30. A few even got up to $45 which is crazy.

Edit: removed the list on the request of a few members. Just know that the titles that have been discussed here in the past (AI Encore, Ultimate Duck Hunting, Tetris DS, Electroplankton, etc) are still decent flip candidates.

wtf @ phoenix wright: ace attorney! i feel like i've seen that everywhere. guess i'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a new copy. i remember when that was going for insane $$ before they reprinted it a few years ago.

pretty happy since i've scored 3x ps2 adapters in the last week. didn't cost me anything really since i had credit from the trade 3 get $10 extra promo.

I hate how gamestop has programed you guys to think that you are getting something for free when you trade something in. It is not free. Its cost you the original amount you paid for those games you traded in. But good find on the ps2 adapter.
Listed below are the highest priced Wii and DS games on Amazon Marketplace (for new copies).
LOL not for long ...

Majority of what I traded in to get the credit of $75 were games I probably didn't spend more than $10-15 collectively between some of the $0.97 Sears games I picked up and the BBV BOGO stuff I didn't care much for. Either way, I barely spent any money to make $150 or so from selling the adapters.

no ones buying those phoenix wright for much lately.. its a good price for $50 but with no current demand for them they're only worth around $30. i still have 4 sealed copies from a TRU sale from before.. its waiting :)

thats a good list Josef.

I trade stuff in to gamestop if it can come within $5 of the price I can get online for it. It also brings down the taxable price...a pretty big deal when you live in the county with the highest sales tax in the country (10%.) ;)
Resident Evil DS - $40
Just because it's listed as $40 doesn't mean it'll sell at $40. It's like $15 on ebay.

i shouldve kept my RE:DS.. i have 2 extra copies that i traded in to game crazy for basically nothing. then i passed up a few at CC when they had them in stock last year. oh well. i still have 1 sealed copy left though. but yeah, the game is still under $40.

i listed mine at $80 before when there were no sealed copies on ebay then a week later some jerk off listed it at $50, we both couldnt sell them at that price.. maybe if the game was actually good it would have a good value.
