Flip Successes and Flip Flops
wii sports is back up on ebgames.com
Thanks... I could use some flipping fodder.

Happened this week. Went to gamestop and bought DQVIII for $5, in one of their generic cases. Get home and realize theres a crack in the disk. Take it back the next day and got $10 back. Acidentally but still good.
For some reason, when I bought 2 shipments of wii sports, i always get one defective disk.

I think they're onto us.
It's actually because the games they sell online are the defective ones that are returned from stores (notice how they don't take trade-ins online....) Then they have some poor shmuck use a disc doctor on them, which screws the games up half the time.
Just be aware that prices on Wii Sports have fallen to about $36.99 shipped.
Just when I finally got a few copies to sell. Why cant they be $50 shipped like before? Oh well.......

Of course the market starts to dry up once I'm finally able to get my hands on a couple copies. My last two eBay auctions ended at $20 each! Oh well it basically served as a "cash out" as I used a GS gc to buy them...

Did it ever occur to you that you were finally able to get your hands on a couple copies because the market is starting to dry up?
Just because it's listed as $40 doesn't mean it'll sell at $40. It's like $15 on ebay.
I just sold a new Persona 3 (non-FES, boxset) for $45 on Amazon when it goes for less on eBay. Not bad, I didn't suffer as much a loss as feared once FES came out and then the nail-in-coffin FES with boxset from Amazon (still in stock, too!)

I think Amazon shoppers enjoy paying premiums. I've only listed two items this week, that I did not even think were in demand, on Amazon and both sold in less than 24 hours.

This! I finally dumped my excess P3s (and am about to dump my copy, since I have FES and the artbook doesn't mean anything to me).

This item would qualify as a major flop for me. I have about 10 sealed copies of the original P3 with artbook/soundtrack. I wonder if they will ever increase in value. I guess I will hold onto them for years.
I found a New & sealed PS2 network at a GS labeled as used.
it would probably go for $69 ($10 more than a used one). they dont go as much as they used to (sealed versions) because people want to use them for P1R4CY!

This is my first time flipping and was curious if this is still possible I have a couple in my city so I was thinking about trying. I have bought stuff before from eBay but never have sold anything how would I go about doing this?
found a gameboy player, sealed at my local salvation army.
Like for the gabecube or the huge gray gameboy system?

Wow just seen some games on ebay doing random searches, and man I feel dumb. A few years ago(maybe 6-7) I was checking every store for FFVII because my brother was mad one day and decided to put my disk on the floor and rubbing it really fast back and forth to scratch the hell out of it, well anyway I couldn't find it at the 10+ stores I checked. I did find a whole lot of other games that I didn't want, like 10+ copies of Xenogears (4 sealed), valkyrie profile 3 copies (1 sealed), and a few more that I can't list on my psp right now. Of couse little me didn't buy them o.0
its the gameboy adapter for gamecube.
so is it like hard to find? or did you just want one for yourself

Anyone know what I could possibly get for a factory sealed GTA San Andreas Special Edition black label? I believe it is the "Hot Coffee" edition. I can't find any info online for sealed copies. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong thread, I'm new...

i just thought it was a good deal and they sell for at least 4x that new on ebay so i thought it was a flip not a flop.

ot, have a sealed copy of san andreas for ps2 that is the original version.

I know this is a forum for flip and or flops people have actually done, but does anyone think the DS version of Chrono Trigger "first run" will be worth a pretty penny in the future if kept sealed?

Hard to say. I've yet to see a copy of Chrono Trigger DS that isn't a first print.

Let see picked up Pokemon Emerald car only for $4 today that should get about $20
From a garage sale I snagged Resident Evil 2 complete and in good condition and The Legend of Zelda Collector's edition for $6 total. RE2 is hot right now maybe $30-$40 for it and the Zelda that easily another $40.

Lol I know there is only the first print out now since it's a relatively new game on the DS, however on the cover it says the first run will only include the "limited edition poster" or whatever. Wise choice to maybe buy two copies, play one and keep one sealed? Maybe someday it will be rare like the SNES copy from '95?

RPG is a lot more popular compare to back in 95 so it is not going to be as rare as the SNES version

Plus, re-releases of rare games tend to never come close to the value of their predecessors.

Games that usually become rare are games that:

1. Launch at the end of a consoles life span.
2. Have an incredibly small print run.
3. Have a small, but die-hard fanbase that snowballs into a huge fanbase long after the game releases.

Chrono Trigger has had plenty of time to build a huge fanbase, it had a fairly large print run, and the DS is years from it's grave.

I could always be wrong, though.

A couple of examples of games that do not fit your criteria are Tetris DS and FFVII. Of course, one can argue that those games are not rare, merely sought after. Maybe Chrono Trigger DS will eventually follow suit, and will be valuable because it's highly sought after.

That's always a possibility. The criteria I wrote up is what I use to determine games to buy for my sealed game collection. Games that fit all the criterion I mentioned above are the ones that will eventually be selling for $500.00+ for a sealed copy. I guess I should have been more specific and said they're criteria for a sealed game to be the next Chrono Trigger (which routinely sells for $1,200+ sealed).
anyone else notice that gamestop has jacked up the price on Wii sports to $19.99..... there goes profit lol
