FLOW for PS3 - $4.99 until May 23rd (PSN Downloadable Game)

It's a no-brainer at $5.00.

It's such a relaxing game.
Take your time with it.

And it best uses the SIXAXIS tilt controls better than any PS3 game, and even better than 90% of the Wii games out there.

It's that accurate.
Is this the first time we've seen an actual sale on downloadable content?
Not really, no. The Wii Opera Browser is technically "on sale" until June or July, then it's going to cost $5 to download. I think some Live content has been on sale too in the past.

It's not exactly a screensaver game... damn it, i brought it for $8... $5 is a good buy, even if you call it a screensaver game.

The mulitplayer mode is pretty neat too. I can't get the thing to grow big like the ones at the very bottom of the ocean. Those monsters are huge!!!

flow is a great game on the pc i can only imagine how fun it is on a consol, i would def pick it up.......if i had a ps3

I actually thought it was pretty cool. Not a lot of depth. I think of it as a playable screen saver. The motion control is kinda cool. Very calm music, pretty cool visuals, but if you are expecting complex gameplay, look elsewhere. I got it for $7.99 and I don't play it much. For $4.99, not a bad deal. Just don't expect alot.

I bought it and fully enjoyed it. I was hoping they'd release some additional content for it, but it's a pleasant and relaxing game. I think five bucks is a great price for it.

would be a cool thing if they started offering discount coupon codes for DLC on PSN and Live. CAGers around the world would go nuts finding codes!

Right, it's the reason everyone I know has Texas Hold 'Em and I don't (no XBox 360 when it was free)

This is, no lie, the only game I've played on my PS3 since I got it 2 months ago (Resistance didn't really do it for me, and what else is there?). Basically my PS3 is a $600 flow machine. Is it worth a $650 investment (extra controller for multi!)? I would have to say no. Is it worth $8 though? Its a steal at $8. At $5 its a must own.

Mind you, if you don't have an HDTV I think it'll be a lot less great. It is beautiful to look at, and the sound design is lovely as well. I agree that it contolls better than anything on the Wii, it becomes really intuitive. Its true there's not a lot of depth, but its the kind of game you experience rather than just "get to the final boss."
You see this is what 360 needs some on sale downloadable content.
- Texas Hold'em was FREE for a limited time.
- GRAW Map Pack price was reduced.
- You can buy XBL MP Point cards at a discount usually ;)
should put download ps3 game. how it sounds in the post its a store selling the game for 5 bucks
Anybody that knows anything about the PS3 knows this game is only available on the PSN.

There was also that Lumines expansion pack that was half price for a while.

And they gave out the heavenly star pack out for free for a while (even though i missed it)

I might just bite on Flow at this price, CAC and this look rather good.

I was tempted to get Flow at $8 when it came out but I'm definitely gonna pick it up at $5 if only to encourage price drops on downloads. After 6 months of owning a PS3 Flow will be the first game I buy or play on my PS3. I have not played a single thing except demos and Blu-ray movies on it so far :p

The Wii Internet Channel (Opera Browser) is free till end of June. I'll download/purchase Flow for $5.

I agree that it's worth $5, but the controls are very un-even and the game itself is very hit-or-miss.

definitely worth $5. This is the most relaxing game ever...

the controls are very un-even and the game itself is very hit-or-miss.

as for the controls, I got the hang of it after a minute or two. you just have to hold the controller flat, and tilt it slightly.
not sure what you mean by hit or miss-- the game is the same thing the whole time.

It's definitely not for everyone--some gamers just don't understand when a game isn't about racking up headshots and pwning noobs.

I hear ya, hopefully i'll start resistance soon too

Same here... after few minutes, i got the hand of it. As a matter of fact, my six years old master it in few minutes. I do believe when the "thing" you're controlling gains more control as it evolves... However, once it reaches certain size, it became slightly harder to control again.

It's relaxing? Yes... It's creepy when you go to the deep end? Hell yeah, those big monsters kept scare the crap of you that you automatically ran to the level above you.

It also plays Ridge Racer 7. For me, at least. =)

And Blast Factor was onsale on the PSN for $7.99 from $9.99 for quite some time. Now that's a fun game (but a real rip off of Geometry Wars with only slight improvements...i.e. sixaxis wave control).

I beat the demo and i really want the game :) but still wanna get it cheaper, since i got tons of other games to play.... Definitely will get it for $5! Please let it be a sale on this game. They have the multi-player pack for $3 i believe. If the total is around $8, i will get it for sure.

It's well worth the money, with the multiplayer pack even now. I think it's bunches of fun (and I played through Gemoetry Wars too).

I fell in love with flOw. I have run it to a 720p video projector and it was GLORIOUS. However, most of the time, I have the PS3 hooked up to a Panasonic monitor via S-Video. It's not as stunning, but still exceptional.

I had it up on the screen for a party two months ago and a friend picked up the controller. He's got a wii and he saw what was going on immediately. He said that it was pretty, but he didn't like the control scheme. I said, "To each his own." At least he tried it. Well, I came back in the room 45 minutes later and he was still playing it. I commented that it seemed that he had dealt with the control scheme. He said that maybe his judgement had been too hasty.

He ended up playing for over an hour that night.

I've enjoyed 2-player co-op play with this and flOw is one of the few games that my wife enjoys watching. She's not a big game fan at all. However, the relaxing music and beautiful visuals make it a winner in her book.

It was totally worth my $7.99 and it's a no-brainer for 4.99. It's almost more a form of medatation than a video game. Think of Rez but slowed way down.

Enjoy!

Lemmings used to be $7.99 as well.
