oh just a note it seems the lego batman pure bundle has been pulled from shelves (sent back to microsoft) to repackage with Halo/forza instead.

So anyone looking for a deal on it, its gone. Granted smaller retailers prolly will just clearance them out.
Why invest in new hardware when it will be obsolete in a year?
I can't believe Nintendo released info on the 3DS right when their DSi XL was launching in North America. That pretty much shot the release in the foot. You'd think they would have waited till at least a month or two after.

Most likely which ever company is supplying one of the important parts for the 3DS (screen, processor, etc.) will have to disclose who put in such a big order. Their hand was probably forced. Better for Nintendo to make a quick press release before someone else lets the cat out of the bag. It is unfortunate for the DSiXL launch...

...maybe the "DSiXL target market" age group doesn't read the interwebs...

If I didn't already have a DS I might be interested in getting one myself. I'm not 70 and can see fine. :p

Is FF13 on that $15-off promotion? And does anyone know what their regular price is on ME2?
Why invest in new hardware when it will be obsolete in a year?
Because it's release is in a year and whatever you can buy and play now will be well worth, if not be more than worth the initial investment of whatever you pay for a DSi.

After all, I bought my DSi at launch and play it constantly. I don't feel ripped off like a lot of people do when new hardware gets announced. And remember, all successful console makers ALWAYS have new hardware in planning stages of some sort. So are you willing to forego buying a system just because 'they will be announcing the next one for release in a year'? Do you have the same mentality with other things like cars, i-anythings or computers? It's really really flawed logic.

In this case tho, early adopters actually get rewarded. heh

And I doubt the masses interested in the XL would care about too much about 3DS (screens too tiny, for one thing).

A month or two wouldn't matter if they're trying to maintain market domination momentum. What with iPhones and equivalents breathing down their necks trying their damndest to take any marketshare away from them if they could even if they're completely different markets.

You obviously forget the Game Boy Micro. (which I still want!)

The Zellers flyer is up on their website so the sale I posted earlier is confirmed. Looks like it's only these two things though, the other games listed aren't sales.

Zellers

PS3 120 GB - $289.99
PS3 Dualshock Wireless Controller - $44.99

I hope Splinter Cell is mispriced, I did a T2 + $19.99 ... but the receipt only says how much you got for each game, not the total price that was in the system when you preordered .

Gamestop flyer seems to have mistakes, Red Dead Redemption gaming guarantee states April 27 as release date (page 1), page 2 says release 4/18/2008...

I bought a used copy of the Lego Batman/Pure doublepack for $10 at Game Centre(Toronto Yonge/Bloor) and they had several new copies for $20.

Updated. No FF13 unfortunately.

Good deal for Beatles Rock Band. May consider picking it up.

Oh man I just paid $50 for a DS3 on the weekend, but oh well I traded in some stuff for it. I'm in the market for a new PS3 too but I'm waiting for that new cech-2101 model.

New model? I was going to go pick up a PS3 slim this weekend but your post has peaked my interest.

Edit: So I Googled it and it doesn't appear it adds anything new? If so, I think I'll just stick with the plan and pick one up this weekend. I would have rather had a bundled free game than $10 off but I guess I'll take it. I have $100 off in HSBC rewards so it'll end up being $190. :)

Nobody knows if the 2101 adds anything new, some are speculating that they've reduced the RSX to 45nm which would reduce temps. It's been said that it's .2kg lighter but that takes the packaging into account so it could be a change in package or a change in the hardware. I'm assuming that anything they've changed is for the better so I'm waiting for the new one. And if there's any improvement I'm gonna be kicking myself if I bought the old one a few weeks before.

Here's some discussion on it: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=388305

Thanks a lot. I took a look at it today and it's really a poor deal. ME2 is 69.99, for example... 20 bucks more than most places. A shame.

I finished FFXIII so I might be looking at taking advantage of that $45 TIV at FS. I have a feeling the TIV on it is going to dive bomb.

I was at RCSS today (Alberta) and saw the PS3 Bluetooth Head set for $40. Not sure if this was a local thing or not but I thought I'd mention it.

^I saw that at a Vancouver RCSS last month as well. It was the regular price tag on the shelf.
for fs you missed TMNT smash up and Shaun white world stage being 10$
Holy, that's pretty good. I will try TMNT. Thanks!

Why on earth would you assume this? Hasn't the PS3 LOST features with every new model (I'm not counting HDD capacity as a feature)?

We've lost SACD, hardware BC, software BC and card-readers. I guess for the uber anal we gained bitstreaming with the Slim, but then I'd think those same individuals would morn the loss of SACD...

The PS3 is one console I'm very glad to have picked up a launch unit for...

How did they have new copies available for sale? Arent these games marked as not for resale which means they cant be sold by themselves new.

Proud new member of the PS3 community! :) Just pulled my new slim out of the box. Got if for the $10 off at Zellers and used $100 off with HSBC points. Also picked up the Uncharted + Controller combo for $60.

They aren't gonna take away any more features, I meant hardware changes between the slim 2001 and 2101 models like maybe better cooling or the 45nm RSX chip. I just got the YLOD on my 60GB so I'm very interested in any new hardware revisions they've come up with, anything that gives my new to-be-purchased PS3 a better chance to not fail.

I see where you're coming from. I hope my 60 never YLODs...be a tough call whether or not to repair it, as I use all its features. I may pick up a slim anyway and release the 60 from BD duty.
which is better? prototype or infamous? i heard they were kinda similar. 29.99 is a good price. might bite.
Infamous is better, but Prototype is more along the lines of mindless mass destruction fun and some folks seem to enjoy that more.

Infamous is Electrical powers, Prototype is a lot of different stuff such as Arm sword and giant claws that rip people in half.

I personally preferred Infamous

Get Infamous even though I never got to far into it the game was fun. Much better then Prototype which I couldn't even finish and returned the rental ASAP.

Infamous is WAAAAY better. I have played through it twice, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I rented Prototype and only made it about 2 hours in before getting bored. Infamous is a much more polished game, and just a hell of a lot more entertaining.

Picked up Assassin's Creed 2 from the Robson/Granville FutureShop last night. Somehow I got an extra 10% off, and it came to $26.99 before tax. The receipt just shows -$3 discount. Weird, but I'm not complaining :D.

inFamous is better, I loved Prototype at first but it got old and I sold it before finishing. I probably got about half way through the game and then just lost interest.

Against better judgement, I got the Toy Story twins at Zellers for 20 each and used the two TS coupons from Disney on top of it. I'm not a big fan of TS 2, but for 10 bucks for BR and DVD combo, I can't say no.
