Went to RCSS Brampton and Managed to get Gears 3 and 3 xbl 1400 points cards. some guy there snatched up the last 3 xbox controllers and he had a stack of points cards in his hand. Picked up a flyer too since its mentioned there and by reading other posts, price matching might happen :)

I don't usually like to do this but i grabbed 4 1400 cards, cause i need CoD Elite and everywhere is sold out of the Hardened edition.

There was still plenty at the Whitby RCSS at 11:00AM so i don't feel too bad :D . The guy told me the 2800 points were sold out first thing this morning.
What's the CAG standard ettiquette for these kinds of deals? I grabbed 2 2800's and 4 1400's, which is more than I would have, but i grabbed extra for a CAGer who asked earlier. I left at least 3-4 and posted. Am I ok?
I don't know if there's an "etiquette" per se, but if you're buying them with the intent to use them, I can't really see a problem with that.

The only other pass would be if you're giving them as gifts or selling them for the same price you paid.

If you sell them for a profit then in my eyes you're a hoarder and have little business being alive (that's a little harsh, but it would be nice if people had any sense of morals these days).

I'd be very surprised if the big retailers (i.e. FS and BB) aren't on high alert this week for people trying to price match when there's no stock.

Easy way to check for hoarders is to look for the cards showing up on BST threads at RFD or on Kijiji. It doesn't help that half of RFD talks about hoarding though.

the psn cards are already available? the flyer says that it starts the 8th!! could this deal be price-matched @ futureshop?

Cool. I'm definitely either using them or selling them at cost to one of the CAGers. I don't feel good trying to take advantage of other peoples ignorance of the costs of things.

I feel the same way about Hoarders. My wife had to experience it first hand during the first bout of Rogers closings. We had a few games that we wanted, and the crowds were super aggressive. She's only about 115 lbs and she literally got pushed and shoved around by dudes filling laundry baskets.

Managed to get three 2800 point cards today. 2 for me and 1 for a friend of mine. Enough for my COD Elite subscription so I'm happy.

I've been reading that RCSS will be restocking these throughout the week, so it could be worth checking again.

Man, that reminds me of last year's Rogers boxing day sale where some guy bought 10 copies of Halo Reach to trade in at Gamestop.

Ugh, don't these scum have jobs?

There is a stack of 2800 (at least 20-25) and a stack of 1400 (at least 15-20) at the Huntington RCSS if anybody lives around there. Doesn't seem to be much interest there though. At least not the kind that I've read from this thread. I personally picked up 2 2800 point cards. Should last me a long time.
Got PSN cards at Walmart no problem
Huh. Aren't these supposed to go on sale on the 8th, though?

None at the RCSS Westboro in Ottawa. I did pop buy at 8:15 in the morning and they had lots but since I don't have a 360 or horde, I let it be. When I came back at 9:00 P.M., they were all gone. People sure are desperate for games.

Hopefully, I can get those PSN Cards at the Wal-Mart near my home at some point.

Yeah I saw the bare pegs at 4:45 PM today (after work) and went to Walmart to PM (against another RCSS's stock in Orleans).

PSN cards aren't supposed to go on sale until the 8th (Tuesday).

Congrats to everyone who got them early. Unfortunately my closest Wal-Mart (Edgeley Blvd in Woodbridge) is sticking to the Nov 8th start date. Boooooooo

I bought two 2800 points card and one 1400 points card, woo hoo! Can't wait for Tuesday to pick up a $50 PSN card. Thanks again firehawk!

The RCSS across the street from Southcentre had lots left around 4:30 this afternoon. There was probably around 10+ for each of the card amounts (2800&1400). It was a pleasant suprise considering the horror stories over on Real Fraudulent Dealers
The Wal-Mart sale starts on the 8th.

The RCSS sale started today.
Damn, no RCSS in Quebec. Guess I'll have to wait for Walmart.

Ugh, well too bad I'm staying at a hotel downtown Toronto for this. Difficult to get anywhere that will PM and probably too late anyways. Anyone try Pm'ing Xbox live cards at FS?

Future Shop at Yonge and Dundas
Best Buy at Bay and Dundas
Wal-Mart at Dufferin Mall. Take the subway to Dufferin Station, walk south on Dufferin, it'll be on your right. Take you all of ten minutes to get there from downtown.

Thanks dude. I knew about the FS and BB at yonge and dundas, just wasn't sure i wanted to walk over there this afternoon or not.

And checking store availability online it seems to be all sold out, oh well. Maybe next time.
How are you guys picking them up so early?.. The sale doesn't even start until the 8th.
Seems, based on NeoGAF and RFD that there's a mix -- some people have been able to get the deal through manager intervention, and others appear to be planning on price-protecting them. One of the posters on GAF said he asked and was told he wouldn't be able to price protect, which makes sense to me. Probably going to be a very annoying Tuesday for Walmart staff in places where the RFD horde is largest.

They have no more point vstfd at Clairview RCSS. Price matching at Wal-Mart they fed me some bullshit about different packaging on the 2800 point cards after making wait for like 40 minutes. Got a couple 1400s though.

It actually is different packaging. It's not a prepaid card or a card they activate at the register, Its like a big piece of cardboard the size of a game case.

This was actually the first time I've seen this kind of packaging.

Incase anyone is wondering, FS at Keele and St.Clair W. in TO denied me a PM on XBL cards.
Dude said they're not "allowed" to PM XBL points... :whistle2:s Even suggested I go to wallyworld on Dufferin...
Atlantic Superstore in Yarmouth, N.S has these on sale and there were several of both the 1400 and 2800 cards in stock. So....confirmed in the East even though our superstore flyer didn't list the deal.
Hmm, gotta check the one across the river sometime this week then. The Superstore down the road from me doesn't have any electronic department. Though something tells me I'm gonna be SOL.

None left at the Deerfoot RCSS. They did have God of War: Ghost of Sparta for $9.99, though.

When I went to the Wal Mart on Jane/Hwy 7 to price match 2800 point cards, a manager fed me the same bs. I went to the front entrance and grabbed a flyer and asked the associate to call back the manager. In front of customers and Wal Mart associates I said, "Read This!", pointing to Wal Mart's Ad Matching Policy where it says, "Walmart will match the advertised purchase price of any competitor for an identical product." I said, "What part of this product is not identical?". She looks at me and says sorry and tells the cashier to approve it.

^^^ It always amazes me how resistant retailers are about price matching. You have to remind Future Shop every time about the additional 10% off (the same people, too), after they try they try their best not to give it to you. No offense to those working in retail but I could never do it, seems to me you need real rat & snake like qualities. I would be eager to get people deals, so I'd never be successful.

looking to pick-up either 3x2800 point cards or 6x1400 point cards from anyone who's looking to make a few bucks.

Will pay $25CDN for each of the 2800s or $12.50 for each of the 1400s

Pm me if interested

One time Toys R Us had a PSP bundle discounted from $200 to $100 and I tried to price match at Futureshop. I went and got the bundle from the shelf and brought it to the customer service counter. The girl was real hesitant because it was such a big discount so she was reading over the website printout real carefully, and then said she would have to call the store and make sure they had it in stock before matching. There was a group of employees chatting nearby and suddenly there were literally 4 employees looking over everything trying to figure out a way out of price matching it. Then some manager walking past overheard what was happening and comes up real quick and tells me they don't sell that bundle. I hold it up in my hand, so he starts searching the Toys R Us deal and then claims they can't match it because it says on the ad that it was a sale. I left and bought it at Toys R Us. Worst price matching experience I've ever had. I shop at that location as little as possible, they're terrible. Once they sold me a used DVDrom drive as new with a porn CD inside it and then tried to blame me for buying an open box.

tl;dr Futureshop sucks

I don't know of a better place to post this, or if anyone will care, but Best Buy shipped my MGS HD today so hopefully everyone who pre-ordered gets it on release day tomorrow.

The whole point of price-matching is to convince customers to buy at their store instead of someone else's. Whenever an agent or a manager tries to resist a price-match, I remind them of this fact.

Another trick I sometimes use is bring a WHOLE BUNCH of stuff up to the register with me. If they refuse to price match, I put everything down and say "I guess I'll just go get all this over at their store then."

Picking mine up at EB Games tonight. I'd like to thank Modern Warfare 3 for making it so I don't have to wait until morning. :D

Anyone order/plan to buy the MGS Collectors Edition? I wasn't interested in paying the additional $35+ for nothing but a book. I figure this is on-topic enough for the thread since it's about a game releasing this week.

Picked up a 2800 point card this morning at Dufferin and Steeles in Toronto. They were just getting their new stock in. :D

Anyone having trouble with finding stock (or PMing at BB/FS), try to PM at The Source, worked for me. Picked up 14000 points there. ;)

Superstore sale on XBL Cards ends on November 10th, on the Westcoast. Also, nothing at all in their flyer about PSN Cards being on sale.

I can't speak for other stores but the one near me doesn't sell PSN cards at all which sucks.

Did they stop stocking them when the PSN went down for 2 months? :applause:

What's the deal on PSN Cards at Walmart this? $30 for two $20 Cards or something?

Basically. Buy 3 get 1 free the way I look at it. I'll swing by Wal-mart tomorrow. Hopefully they still have some left.

I'd go today, except I rang up EB wondering if they were gonna sell MGS HD Collection today or not, and the clerk told me that they have it, but yet to be processed thanks to MW3 =| so yeah, thanks MW3.

I went to my nearest Walmart today and only found 1 $20 PSN card. When I asked the department manager at the electronics register if they had more, he said some guy bought a stack of them.
