For PS1 games, what is the definition/appearance of a MINT disc?

I've recently gotten into buying and playing PS1 games. Is a disc considered MINT when you look at the black side straight on under normal lighting and there are no scratches? I have some discs that look MINT under normal lighting, but once you shine a light directly on the black side you see light scratches.

Sorry, if this is somehow in the wrong forum. Please respond to this post. Thanks!

The PS1 games I bought brand new and still have all look immaculate under any kind of light (even LEDs or flashes). That should technically be the definition of mint (which means perfect). But most people probably don't even look that close...

That's what I was thinking when I read the word "mint" for all those Craigslist and Ebay listings. Thanks for the response!
