Check Officemax. They have (had?) a 37 in LCD for $700. If you apply for an Omax credit card you get 10% off and no payments/interest until 2008.

TV is beautiful tho I have noticed a bit of a buzz when the TV outputs blue... kinda odd but not at all noticable with the sound on.

So i'm a little hung up on getting an hdtv. I've heard different things, and some people have said that it makes regular, non-hd channels look worse than on a regular television. Is that true?

yes I have heard and read this as well. I was going to get that 32 westinghouse but after I saw that line last night at 11pm, I said fuck that. Anyways I did talk to the employee on Wednesday and he did confirm, that if you DON'T have HD programing, standard def will look like shit. My parents only have standard coax cable and so it will look like shit and this was suppose to be a gift for them.
I would get This 37" Olevia for $800. Use coupon TCRCPTAA for 10% off.
Great TV I feel, but Tigerdirect has it for $699.

In regards to the SD on an HDTV thing, they tend to look worse. I have a 27 in Olevia where SD looks very good still but with the 37 in I just bought they look a bit on the ugly side. The high resoultion and huge size just magnifies the general ugliness of SD.

That said, it is still easily watchable and there's no way I'd give up an HDTV for that reason.

Honestly, if you are on a sub 1K budget your best bet is to wait just two more months for super bowl time. The tv deals will be just as a good or better than now.
I have heard this tv has some geometry issues. If not then it is a great price for an entry level hdtv
Its been working great so far and it comes with a 15 month IN HOUSE Samsung warranty (12 Reg months and an extened 3 months for Registering it)

If that is true then I would rather have your Samsung than a bottom of the barrel 32" LCD
I'm looking for a plasma, preferably 42". I really wanted that BB BF deal. Any suggestions?
Best Buy is offering a 60 day price match guarantee on all HDTVs. This will cover you up close to Super Bowl time. Just find something you like that stores like to agressively price.
