I ended up buying 21 of the $10 rebate games back right before Christmas at CompUSA for $4.88 each, so I was expecting a lot of rebates. Today I got a letter from them saying I had not postmarked the items in time and would not be getting all of my rebates. Now I was pretty irate, considering I WORK in a post office, and I stamped the letter myself to make sure it was postmarked in time so I called the number they provided. I got a very nice employee who informed me that a lot of these things were sent out in error and I would be getting all of the rebates. Apparently there was some kind of mixup on the game Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance, but they will be honoring it. She also said I'd be getting $10 rebates per game, not $4.88, but we'll see about that since the form says you won't get more than you paid.

So if you too got one of these letters don't go off on the operator like I started to. I feel bad now I was about to yell my head off at her!

Id be very careful with CompUSA rebates. I know all sorts of people whove had problems with them. Hopefully that was religated to the past and not current. Good luck and keep on them.

Thanks for the heads up. I did two of these and hope they come through.

BTW, you should be able to exchange these rebate gift cards for cash at the store. I intend to try doing this anyway. I remember that Sunday's ad actually mentioned being able to do this. I meant to keep a copy of that, but I didn't.

did you get her name? be careful when dealing with customer no service...remember it doesn't hold up unless its in writing. other than that you are operating on someones word that you've never met.

Well considering she was reading the games I bought off to me without my having to tell her I'm assuming it is all in the computer.
