Ok, I own both the 360 (along w/HD-DVD) and a PS3. I have TWO TV's to hook these up with. A 55" RPTV Mits (Component only and 1080i) and a 26" HP LCD TV (that doubles as a PC monitor) with HDMI (720p/1080i). Both system have a surround setup, so that is a wash basically.

Now, I want to have these hooked up on seperate TV's, since sometimes my wife likes to watch the bigger TV. So if I want to game, I can just go to the other room. Although, she does not mind if I game on the 55".

I currently have my 360 on the 55" TV...since I've owned that longer and have a thing for it. I also have most my games for the 360, as I like the console. Plus, the component only thing seems logical for the 360.

Now I have a shiny new PS3....I was going to hook it up to the 26" since it makes sense, but I realize the Internet aspect of the console will be wasted since it's a PC. However, it DOES have HDMI and both HD modes (720p/1080i). I also have ZERO games right now....and I probably won't get as many since I seem to like the 360 a bit more...but I have yet to really play the PS3 except at stores. This would also require me to purchase a PS3 component cable, if on the 55" (another $50ish), I already bought a HDMI cable for $10. The only thing I think about hooking it up on the 55" is the Internet out there...although, I have a laptop that I can use out there...so not a big deal really.

I also own a few HD-DVD's...but I will rent both now since I can.

So, how would you set these up (and don't say the SAME TV, that is not an option)?

Keep your 360 on your 55", since you game on it more, you have hd-dvds/can play upscale dvds, and its a bigger TV. Use the ps3 for the 26", and you can play that when your wife uses your 55". Since you have less ps3 games, you'll be playing on the smaller tv less. In the mean time, stop by gamestop/eb every now and then and look for used component cables for ps2. They are $7.99 I believe. You can even get the monster ones for the same price. Hook those up to your 55. That way, when you do want to play your ps3 with your 55", you dont unhook anything but the power cord.

well you see I too have a 360 and a "shiny" new ps3 and when I game ...I game...i dont know who doesnt game when they have systems like 360 and ps3....everyone should game...game is good...do you game...oh yeah back to your question...yes you are gay, tell your wife quickly.

Your Mits 55" doesn't have an internal scaler, so hooking the PS3 up to it means you'll get Blu Ray discs at 1080i, but almost all games will drop to 480p unless they support 1080i natively, which they don't.

The PS3 is, basically, incompatible game-wise with any older CRT based RPTV's unless you want to game at 480p. I have a Mits 65" component/1080i and I'm in the same boat. However, also like you, I have some options...720p projector and a 37" 1080p set that I use as my PC monitor.
