Hey guys! I have this tiny project, where I have to pick a country and say what it and the U.S. can offer each other in foreign policy. I picked Italy. I can not say military aid, and something creative will equal a better grade. I tried wikipedia.org among other sites, but can not find a good answer. If you guys have any knowledge on what the U.S. can offer Italy and vice versa, please let me know. Thanks in advance guys!

Italy can offer to join the side of evil, and then switch at the last minute to help win the war. Kind of like a double agent.
U.S. can offer advice on what to avoid doing/saying to make your neighboring countries mad at you.

I'd say this is the first step towards buying your papers from the internet... Do some more research! Its a tiny project, is it due tomorrow? Maybe you have the whole weekend to check it out, the library is your friend.

A weak promise not to call them terrorists and bomb them to kingdom come? Continued distribution of Hollywood movies? Xbox 360?

Way to pick a tough country to try and help.

Well, not that foreign relation needs to be all about the war, but since this is the Era of the Bush, wouldn't foriegn relations with an Eastern country be more like it? you can relate plus it can be necessary.

Any Eastern warzone you choose can all have the same allibi.

Middle East - Go home
USA - stop fighting
Middle East - OK

USA - stop the population growth
China - Can we bring some to America
USA - Deal

USA - Buy my PS3
Japan - lower your cost
USA - I'm going to have to think about that one

Besides the 3rd one, the first two have their merits.

we can give them money and they can teach Dominos, Papa John's and Pizza Hut how to make good pizza.

You can go the United Nation route. Italy and the United States are permanent members of the Security Council.

"Each permanent member state has veto power, which can be used to void any substantive resolution. A single veto from a permanent member outweighs any majority. This is not technically a veto, rather just a "nay" vote; however any "nay" vote from a permanent member would block the passage of the resolution in question."

So, you would want to be on Italy's good side if you want some type of military to be done I guess. It didnt stop the US, but this could be something interesting to write about.
