apologies for the crappy narration skills:
So this past weekend I was in a "small" castle in Lyon with a french family and it was pretty sweet...
but damn, there was this one room on the 5th floor that scared the living crap out of me.
It was really cold in the manor, which was built in the 14th century out of stone:
I had finished lunch and decided to look around the house (castle, really) and I followed the long stone stairway up the second tower entrance.
At the top of the tower there was a huge oak door with iron bands on it and a big key hole.
I opened the door and the air smelled old and musty. I couldn't see anything and fumbled around for a light switch, instead I caught some cobwebs and something really cold and smooth - this kinda freaked me out so I went back out into the hall. I returned to my room:
and got my keychain flashlight, then went back.
and then i saw this:
ok, so it doesn't seem so freaky with the lights on and with the flash of my camera but... it was still pretty sweet.
