Very Highly Recommended series to watch. Awesomely Funny with great High School scenarios and Character Development. Its too bad it only went for One Season, stupid "Who Wants to be a Millionaire."

For those who don't already know, Judd Apatow, the man behind Superbad, Knocked Up, 40 year Old Virgin and Undeclared, was behind Freaks and Geeks as well. Many Actors in Freaks and Geeks were also in the movies/series above.

I have to thank "II5point0II" for hooking me up with a copy for $20 awhile back. I love you.
Stuff like this and Deadwood should have a discount for being incomplete box sets of cancelled series.
That's just stupid.

No one is making people buy these imcomplete sets. If less people were buying them then the price would call.

Plus Freaks and Geeks isn't a long arc story, I don't think it ends on a cliffhanger. Plus I think it has some of the best extras for a show ever.

The set is not incomplete. The set is just about as complete as it could be, as is the set for the sequel-in-spirit, Undeclared (hilarious).
F&G does not end on a cliffhanger, it's a (mostly) suitable ending for the series/characters.
Anyone interested in the F&G Yearbook? I'm considering putting mine on ebay.

I've ordered from DVDPlanet, and every time I have gotten my stuff--however, they've caused the most hassle of any etailer. Got the total wrong item one time, had orders cancelled without notice, had orders sit forever even though the item said "in stock". I only made my last order there because I had store credit. Though I did get my stuff, I would suggest spending a little more and ordering from elsewhere, DDD, Amazon, etc. Even though DDD is their sister company, I've never had the problem with them as I did with DVDP.

^ Have you ordered from DDD in the last year? It has become DD and frankly since the change a year ago they have been gonig downhill every month.

Really? Sad to hear, I always liked DDD/DD, keeping in mind their shipping-by-snail. The only problem I had was when a dvd didn't ever arrive, they sent me a replacement no problem.

I'm just saying they shouldn't get top dollar. That's not stupid. Freakin' Deadwood was burned to the ground...twice. And that series ends long before any of that happened. Most of those people died, yet the show ends with this tension knowing all hell was about to break loose after a common foe they all sided against left town.

EDIT: I was talking more about Deadwood (a set upwards of $70). F&G was acceptable, since regular TV shows tend to go on until they are cancelled anyway and rarely get closure. But Deadwood was cancelled with a promise of two movies to tied it up without factoring in that every cast member was released from contract. If the show was cut because HBO didn't want to fund it, they sure won't be able to lure back actors that ask for more knowing their roles were important.

I guess you haven't been around here for the last months or two when HBO sets were onsale on several sites and in stores a few times. The price for a network show is $5-$60 a season but you never pay more than half that in you wait a few months.

Yeah, I was here, I got Sopranos Season 3. And I'm still kicking myself in the ass for not getting both seasons of Rome for less than the average price of one. Even though it was rushed, it was nice HBO at least gave the makers prior notice so they could wrap things up.
what about deep discount? is that place trustworthy?
I picked this up from DD a while ago for 37.14 during their 20% off sale. Though they tend to have the lowest prices on many DVDs, I have some gripes with them, such as the condition that some of the DVDs arrive in - big cuts right through the top of the packaging on box sets and also on the spine of some DVD cases (though I didn't see any on the last batch of shipments) and some box sets with dented and crumpled packaging (but my F&G set was in pretty good shape). Also, a lot of times they will lower the prices on some DVDs a few hours after they are released. And if you happen to order at the higher price and use a discount code on your order, those bastards will refuse to give you a price adjustment because you have already gotten a discounted price. I found this out recently - I had to reorder the same item (I couldn't cancel either because it was on its way to being shipped) and bite the shipping cost to send it back to them. On the brighter side, one time one of my DVDs seemed like it was never going to arrive, so I called them up and they sent me another copy and then the first one came as well, so I ended up with a free DVD. So with DD, it's a give and take situation, you have to put up with some things to get lower prices.

I was pissed at DD because my Earth 2 set had a very banged up top. Then I saw it on saw at Target and it was perfect and the same price I paid. I then ordered Dinosaurs season 1 and 2, never said it was backordered, never had a shipping date, so I had to readd it to my cart to see the date it would ship. The shipping date was November 29th, December 4th, December 6, December 9th, then finally December 17th. I went "fuck that" and canceled my order. All I got was "Thank you for your email..." and I had to check myself if they canceled it. Unless they have an AMAZING sale, better than the 20% one, I will most likely never order from them again. Amazon prices have been so good I see no need to order from DD who have increased their prices and dropped their standards.

I just checked, Dinosaurs is still on back order and will ship January 6th. I'm checking January 6th and seeing when they will delay it next.

The reason why some box sets are banged up is because it gets damaged during shipment. I found this out because I saw that one of my box sets had a banged up corner in the exact same place that the box it came in had. What I don't get is how much of an ignorant retard do you have to be to put such huge cuts right through the merchandise, worse than the incompetent employees at Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, etc. I mean how hard is it to get the box open to unpack the new releases without sticking the knife in so deep? What I do is, if I see a perfect copy at a B&M store, I buy it and return the banged up copy, that way I get a nice copy for the low price.

Amazon's items seem to arrive quicker and in better condition most of the time than DD's, although the catch is you have to order at least $25 worth of stuff to get free shipping, whereas with DD everything ships for free. And Amazon does offer competitive prices with DD and B&M stores, but I still always do a comparison before I make a purchase.
