If you are getting INVALID CODE error, just remember that 48-hour trials only work on Silver (FREE) memberships.

I may try for one to check it's validity on a Silver sub-account that I have.

EDIT: IIRC, these types of codes can only be redeemed on your console and won't work at the Xbox.com website.

[update] : it gave me a valid code that I was able to enter on a secondary Silver account. I chose CANCEL and will use it later. This was even though I used my main GOLD account gamertag profile at the facebook app.
