EDIT : You would log into amazon with your normal account if you already have one, no need to create a separate amazon account, but you must have a college email account for verification purposes.

are you using your school email to activate it or to log in to amazon? You just use your normal amazon account but enter in your school email when it requires it.

I would just contact customer service either by chat or phone (whichever you prefer) and ask what steps you are failing at so you can complete the process.

Even if you don't sign up from me, the service itself is awesome and any cheap ass college students should definitely look into the offer since its a hassle free way to get free amazon prime for 6 months.
