Free boxes from the USPS

questions:

1. It says that you have to order at least 25, so you can get 2 sets of 25 free?

2. I thought priority mail boxes were always free down at the post office, unless you plan on wrapping them in butcher paper and sending them off like that?
 
You can order as much as you need (in moderation). They are free at the post office, but they are shipped FREE in bulk, to your door.

Saves at least one trip, and you can even have your postman pick up the boxes (not sure on charges for that though)
 
BTW, the 12 x 12 x 8 boxes are a good size for possibly holding a system and its cords and controllers...keeps me organized with my classics :)

I think I'll be picking some up, priority is a bit more expensive but if allows me to be even lazier I'm all for it.
 
If you print out your own labels online (free) you can get free delivery confirmation. you can even just pay for that online too. The last few things i ebay'd i boxed up, printed the label and paid for the shipping with paypal (debit card). I use a scale so i get it precise, but if you use the Flat Rate or ship light items, it defaults to $7.70 or $3.85

Also, for those of you who want to turn the boxes inside out or otherwise mail them through someone else, they are marked on the normally blank side[/quote]

So, if i wanted to ship an item using this, it would cost me 7.70$ no matter what the weight was???

If you ever need to ship some wieghts to a friend or family member, you know what to do. :lol:
 
sweet, my old game box needed replacing. now let me get this straight, its illegal to use this for anything besides mail of post office business? so i cant use them to move? Thanks OP
 
There are no weight limitations? Like someone said, about shipping weights - would that work? That seems too good to be true
 
The Flat Rate (As in any weight, you pay the same) would be good for weights...as long as the box will hold up.

Technically...yes. But i have yet to have the postman wander downstairs and notice my boxes...so im ok. you could also say you've ordered stuff and your using those boxes to pack...
 
yeah, i ordered this a long time ago, and i've only used about..oh, 5 boxes and half a roll of stickers. still, pretty bad ass, i made a funky little cd holder outta them.
 
Why do people care if it's illegal to use them for other things? My father uses them for shipping, and I took a ton of them when I was moving. The police aren't going to be banging on your door just because you didn't use them to ship stuff.

I just want to make sure people dont think they can send them UPS when they get them.
 
You can also get priority boxes for free at the post office. Though your particular one may run out from time to time, and I think mine doesn't even stock the smaller boxy one for some reason.
 
I just ordered 10,000 free shipping tubes (something like 6"X36" each). It took the order, no charge of course.



I really wonder what's going to happen......

UPS has never given my dad a hassle about using those boxes. Im in no way condoning it, but its a YMMV as to if they ll give you any trouble about it or not.

I can't say I really care about _when_ they get here. I just know I will crap my pants if I get home with 10k shipping tubes in front of my house.

I wonder what my parents will do/say.......
 
This is sweet. I always recycle the boxes I receive, so now I don't have to. I've got around 100 boxes and 100 labels/stickers coming to me. Thanks OP and everyone else. :)

Because the USPS supplies them, for free, for *their* customers.
If I ran a McDonald's, and I didnt' want to buy any napkins, is it right for me to go next door to Burger King, take--not buy, take--10000 napkins from them and use in my business?
If you take these boxes, and don't use them [eventually] for USPS shipping, you have lost all right you may have had to bitch about USPS service or costs. About two years ago I ordered a case of each kind of box, and I'm still working my way through them. But I'm using them for USPS shipping.
Certain people thing certain things are wrong, regardless of if you're going to get caught. It's simply a higher stage of moral development.
