Free Brain Age w/ DS Lite at BB and CC (B&M only)

I think the CC Brain Age and Mario bundle is definitely subjective. It took me twenty minutes to get both while also invovlving a manager in the fray.

Like it was stated before, just showing them the page on their website stating that you should receive both Brain Age and the Mario accessories bundle free should be enough proof.

I got a pissy person too. I had both brain age and the mario sleeve in my hands, then I saw her, and I was like, no way I'm walking out of here with both of these. Oh well.

I slid on over to EB and asked if they had any screen protectors. The dude pointed me to these generic Gamestop ones for the lite. I was contemplating it and then I noticed the original DS Hori ones sitting there. Got a pack for $7.50, gave the lady a $10 and she gave me $7 in change.

hey guys...thanks for the heads up....got my ds lite and brain age a little bit ago. the ds lite is beautiful i must say. but does anyone else think the volume doesnt go up loud enough. i have it up all the way and it just seems like it should be able to get louder.

Success!!! Thank you very much OP, I got my DS lite + Mario Case w/cloth + Brain Age @ CC. It's like I bought the lite for $100+tax :D:D

Haha, who needs math?

Dammit... I hated that Mario Pack but my CC said one or the other.:bomb: I would've argued but I had a lot of trouble finding that coupon on their site since I couldn't print it (no ink) and the guy was more than patient enough with me.

my best buy had a whole stack of print outs of these coupons right next to brain age and the ds, but of course i brought my own print out just in case

My CC didn't have anymore in stock and I arrived about 10 minutes after they opened.

I tried price matching to BB but they called to check if it was in-stock at CC, so no go for me. :(

Mucho gracias on the find. Checked CAG right before I left the house and found the coupon.

Even managed to hook another guy up with a free Brain Age when I got to CC

Man, I should have looked around this board before heading out. I could have had a DS Lite on my hands now. 2 CCs didn't have the Mario set, so I didn't go for it, but this is a much better deal.

BTW, what does B&M stand for?

Haha, I've been wondering that for ages. I'm pretty sure it means in-store only, but I have no idea what the letters actually stand for.

Edit: Ahhhh, I see now.

CC wouldn't give me Brain Age and the Mario Bundle with the DS Lite, so I took the ad over to GameStop (because I had $80 on my reservation) and got the bundle for free there. I just think it's dumb that they wouldn't do their offer even though online it said Brain Age and the Mario Bundle.

On a sidenote I was lucky enough to find Metroid Pinball at Best Buy, after GGC....$15! I've been hunting down this one for quite awhile. Just played it for ten minutes and it is very topnotch for a gba/ds pinball game. The presentation is far better than House of the Dead and the DSL really brings out it's amazing clarity and colors. :applause:

You can get the case and the free game at circuit city. Great deal. Especially since I got $110 trading the original DS and the SP in at EB games with my Edge Card. That combined with a $30 mint complete SMT Digital Devil Saga 2 and $23 Stella Deus mint complete and same for Mario Kart DD it was deal heaven for me.

GS gave you brain age for free?

Picked up my DS lite today and used the coupon in GamePro for a free copy of True Swing DS. Also picked up New Super Mario Bros. Both games are pretty fun, and i am happy with my purchase.

Where is the page that shows both at the same time?

I couldn't resist getting this ds it's a million times nicer then the old which I bought the amazon deal last month for 99.99 with animal crossing. I also got Mario skins and Brain Academy. I had to show them proof on the website that it's for both items and not just 1 or the other.

Yep, I had to show proof @ CC as well. They were out of the Mario Bundle so I got $10 off a Pelican bundle ($15), which I preferred anyways.

FYI for anyone by UCLA...

BB in Westwood/West LA/Culver City are out
CC in Santa Monica is out

Thats cool to get 10.00 off instead cause truth I dont need Mario skin but down the line when I sell my ds for somthing newer it will look better on ebay with it.

I got the Free Brain Age this morning with my Lite at BB. Since they had us go right to the register to get the Lites, I had the person i went with go get a copy of Brain Age. Excellent deal

this deal would be great if anybody had brain age in stock. garbage, and of course theres no rain check or anything of the sort.
If anyone knows, does the Ds lite have the same serial number on every box? Thanks -Tony
No they don't. The serial number is scanned into the POS system at each store for sale verification. If you have a game hardware system and try to return it at another store the POS system will reject the return unless you return it to the same chain.

EX: In theory you couldn't buy a DS Lite at BestBuy and return the same one at Wal-Mart.

No it does not have the same on each box - I got 2 of them and they are different

My Circuit City ran out of Brain Age, DS Lite AND the Mario Bundle. Anyone have any idea what day CC might receive a new shipment this week? Since the coupon expires Saturday.
I'm going back to CC tomorrow and getting my Mario sleeve.

Thanks for that link Purkeynator.
i brought in the CC coupon and picked up a DSL and Brain Age this morning. they tried to put the Mario bundle through, but the register wouldn't take it. i figured that was no big deal, and went home. then i saw the remarks here about the website, so i went back to the store this afternoon. they were sold out of the Mario bundle by now (OF COURSE!), but i talked to a manager and then a CSR, and they gave me a "special order" receipt -- basically the same as a rain check, and punched in the bundle as if i had paid money for it.

this means when they receive more on Friday, i can walk in, show the receipt, and pick up the free items. of course, since i was already there, i ended up buying Kirby Canvas Curse (couldn't help myself).

hope this helps anyone that finds themselves in the same situation. good luck! also, thanks very much to the OPs of the coupon and website listing -- i'm very grateful to you both!

Anyone think I'll be able to take my CC reciept from this morning( I used store pickup since I was in a hurry) back to CC tomorrow with the printed coupon and get a copy of Brain Age?

I was wondering if anyone who ordered from Overstock tried this deal since u get $30 of free stuff? Overstock didn't let me cancel my order so I was wondering if anyone was able to cancel theirs and use this deal? Thanks.

absolutely. you may have to muscle the CSR a little, but it shouldn't be a problem. see my above post -- i did basically the same thing, just with the Mario bundle. the only concern i would have is whether or not they'll still have Brain Age in stock. they might not be willing to do a rain check.
I am new to EB trading thing, but can you cash your store credit? If so, I am putting my cash toward this sale
I don't know if it's still this way, but they used to only give you 80% of the trade value if you wanted cash rather than store credit.

I see. I certainly hope not!! I am going to make a trip to EB on Tuesday and I'll try to ask them about it. Thanks.

I got both the Mario bundle and Brain Age at CC . . . two clerks made it their personal duty to override the system's rejection of both freebies :)

I got $76 cash (net) for my old DS on half.com . . . pretty cool deal overall.
I wonder why nintendo took out the thumb strap to the ds I really wish it had a strap that came with it.
i picked up a very nice DS Lite accessory set from CC today, for $4.96: it includes 3 replacement stylus thingies, a thumb strap, and screen protectors. not a bad deal at all, for the price.

The thing that is comes with is a "thumb stylus" but it is not the same as the little thing you use for Mario 64 . . . in the Mad Catz kit is a big nasty looking thumb attachment which has a stylus point.

aaaargh! i gave in and bought a DSL and Brain Age via bestbuy.com for in store pickup in the 'burbs since they're sold out almost everywhere in chicago.

woohoo! DSL delites!

Can you still use the coupon if you use in store pickup?

the in-store pickup holds the items at the store. they still need to process the charges, so it shouldn't be an issue.

i'm going to bring in the coupon later tonight and see.
