Free Call of Duty 2 Faceplate With Purchase of CoD2 from Best Buy
....wrong thread.
Not really. It talks about faceplates with preorders. There's info on the Full Auto, The Outfit, and COD2 faceplates.

Wow, I wonder I could buy COD 2 and get the free faceplate, and then return COD 2 later and still be able to keep the faceplate......

I just bought COD2 this morning at BB, did not know about this deal, and they didn't give me a faceplate!!!
Dammit!! Now I've gotta go back!

Picked up Call of Duty 2 along with the faceplate today. I used the $10 off coupon, of course. ;)

... now if only I had a 360 to play it on.

Don't know if you made it back, but hopefully you did because these were limited to 6 per store.

Mine had 8 just sitting on the floor under the video game racks. Confused me.

my store attempted to ring it out with the game. When I looked at my receipt later, it only shows the game and the 10 off coupon I used so if I want I could return it if I want. I will probably keep it as I liked the demo. Granted, the multiplayer supposely sucks.

Ok I just picked mine up today. No where n the receipt says it comes with the faceplate so next week I may try to return the game only since I already own it.

Hmmmm, I just put my COD2 Faceplate on. Well it looks ok but its not a perfect fit. Compared to the original faceplate this one seems to be a little warped. It bows too much. But I cant complain. If anything I can sell it on Ebay. Thanks OP.

I went into my local BB and they still had all 6 faceplates, but the fucked up part is they also have a 19.99 pricetag on them. So basically if you buy the game it is free, but if you want to buy this promotional item it will cost you as much as an "Official" Microsoft faceplate. I feel that this would be ok to sell, but not until this weeks sale ad had expire. It is not fair to the consumer looking to purchase the game just for this incentitve. On a side note my BB also had 10 copies of Guitar Hero in store.

I just got mine. I used the $10 off (it was my first time, WOHOO!!) $25 in RZ certs and 2 $10 GCs from the $75 promo they ran before chrsstmas. My final tally for CoD and the face plate was $6.47. I haven't read the other posts yet, but the faceplates come in a plastic baggy with a UPC on them now, so they do show up on the receipt, which is why I grabbed a gift receipt so I can take it back tonite and get Quake IV.

If you dont already own COD2 you should seriously reconsider keeping it. If you already own :applause:

Has anyone used the faceplates and had any trouble? I put the Call of Duty Faceplate in and all of a sudden by Xbox Media Remote isn't working. I put the other COD faceplate I had on, same problem. I put my old 360 faceplate on and the remote worked fine. BLAH

Is there a punchout or something that would cover the Infrared port (or whatever reads the remote)

i had problems with mine fastening into place on the CD side, a lil trimming on the tabs and it fits like a glove, and let me now add, that the remote works but only strait in line with the plate..who knows

Thanks, I do own it actually, I got it on launch day and beat it the same day. I'm goign back through on veteran now. The only thing that keeps it from being a legenday status is the lean feature. Why would they remove it from the port from the PC and yet allow all of your allies and opponents to use it? I know it sounds stupid but on veteran it wouldve been a huge help.

On topic, I took it back last night or should I say tried to take it back. When I went to the counter, I used the Gift Receipt and brought up QIV. He rung it up and said "$39.97." I was like WTF!??! He told me that since the original purchaser used reward zone certs they don't transfer over to the price of the return. He said they are treated like coupons now and they are only good on the original purchase and not on a return, even with a receipt. So I spoke with the manager and he said the same thing. Thinking they were smoking crack I went to another BB on the way home and sure enough, same story. So as an fyi, reward zones have changed. I don't see how that can be legal since its in effect "money or tender".

For my situation its not a big deal because theres always walmart. But imagine the mom who buys madden for the ps2 using a stack of RZ certs. She doesn't understand that the ps2 version and xbox is completely different like most parents and little Jimmy needs to return it. When he does, he'll have to pay the amount originally paid in certs, but now in cash. How is that fair? If she used even a $5 cert, she'd have to pay $54.99 for a $49.99 game even though she had already spent enough money in the first place to warrant the certificate.

I bought one last night with the faceplate. I used a $10 off coupon and a $10 gift card I had laying around. Total was $43. I plan on selling the faceplate for $20-30 on ebay and using my $20 off rebate that came with my 12 month Xbox Live Gold Pack (which I bought for $42 at my closing Toys R Us by the way). The net result? Free Call of Duty 2. A winner is me.
Any tips on removing the original faceplate?
Use a quarter at the top and bottom of the plate to pry up the peice a little. You need to use strength also. Dont be scraed you wont break it.
I sucked it up and bought one off of eBay. I really like the design. I wish they would have offered this as a preorder bonus, though. It kind of punishes the early adoptor, which is wierd.
yes it does suck. The 2 of the 3 local best buys were sold out on monday. The one in N. Dartmouth, MA had 8 COD2 faceplates when I left last night.
