Not sure if anyone has posted this before but this site gives away a different commerical game every day as a way of promoting the various authors.

Most of them are little independent games but some of them are suprisingly fun. They also have a side to the site that gives away apps, same deal.

Worth a look imo, and sorry if this has been mentioned before.

In the last week I've gotten two really fun little games from here. Master of Defense and Mad Magic.

80 % of the games are like arkanoid clones or lame bubble bobble ripoffs or scroll shooters but if you check in daily you'll occasionally find a winner that makes it worth the two mins a day it takes to check.

Just a shame people miss the good ones, like master of defense which is like a simplified rts. Even Mrs. Exedor plays that one.

Great site for those who are married to a Diner Dash fan.

Did a search, couldn't find this posted but if it has, please remove this thread.

About a month or so ago, I came across the parent site, http://giveawayoftheday.com , which offers a free program every 24 hours. Some suck, some are quite useful. Same goes for the gaming portion of the site. Some suck, some are quite fun. Anyway, bookmark the links and check every 24 hours to see if they have something you're interested in.

I've put up a post or two about this and what I've learned is that you should READ THE COMMENTS AND FORUMS before you download and install anything.

Some people, in the most extreme circumstance, have had to reformat their drive, because a program didn't agree with their setup.
Its worth a look, from time to time. thanks for the heads up.
Just do what I do and add it to an RSS Reader, then you don't even after to go to the site, it just comes in bundled with all the other news you read

On the other hand, some people give it a negative simply because it's another screensaver or another match-3 type game. The game itself could be quality, but it's got a rating of 43% because all the cheap entitled bastards apparently expect this year's World of Warcraft each day. I think each program should be rated on its own merit, it's up to the downloader to decide if they're interested in that genre of game. Plus, every day they get new users who haven't downloaded the previous three.
Anyway, I've gotten some good ones, and some games that were worth the download time. I have it added to my 'daily sales' bookmark folder, and just 'open all in tabs'.
